Probably not a lot of funds to keep all of them active. The top fighters want no less than $1 mil per fight these days.
Fighters Just Aren't Seen Enough These Days

Not always. There's a such thing, in practically every business, as being underpaid or overpaid. Pretending otherwise just shows you have little perception into how things work.Fighters are paid what the market says they are worth. Has nothing to do with egos. This is a business.
There are 52 weeks in a year. Guys have longer and more grueling training camps now than they did 50 years ago. Fighting three times a year would mean up to 30 weeks of the year in camp. Guys at the top level are naturally going to want time to rest and recharge before killing themselves again.
Not to mention what TV networks are going to buy all of these fights if all of the top fighters fight 3-4 times a year? The economics don't work.Last edited by LockardTheGOAT; 03-17-2017, 02:35 AM.Comment

I've seen some of these guys cherry picking two bums a year. Defenses, but still. The result is obvious. That's not good.Comment

You have a losers mentality. Winners realize you're worth whatever you're able to negotiate.Comment

Lara has been fighting nobodys for more than 2 years now. He fought once last year and insisted on fighting Yuri Foreman early this year. These are the kinds of fighters we have nowadays. Ask yourselves why are they not rushing to make their next fights? There are the Charlo brothers, Williams, who by now should be fine now. What do you think these people are doing?Comment

Those 'fans' missed seeing fighters like Tank Davis, the Charlo brothers, Robert Easter Jr or Jarrett Hurd's ascension to titleholders or seeing young fighters like a Tony Harrison or Sammy Vasquez sent back to the drawing board because apparently, it is too inconvenient or requires too much effort on the part of these 'fans' to find the sport they love on multiple channels and at multiple times.
Oh well.Comment

Waiting to get overpaid fighting Yuri Foreman type fights. It's pathetic.
154 is a dead division where the top fighters want nothing to do with each other. They'd rather fight their own individual fights. It's bad enough that there's this thing called cold war, but these people are in the same promotional umbrella. There's virtually no excuse they shouldn't be fighting.Comment
