Fighters Just Aren't Seen Enough These Days

We really need a weekly boxing show to come back that features some quality fighters in showcases. Save the tough fights for the PBC. And all of it can be free. But regular exposure needs to happen. Or some kind of YouTube channel. How can a guy get to be a star when he fights once a year?

This is true. Fighters need to be fighting at least 3x per year.

I agree, unfortunately inflated ego's, being paid ridiculous amounts of money for meaningless fights coupled with cherry picking to remain undefeated has taken center stage.

Fighters are paid what the market says they are worth. Has nothing to do with egos. This is a business.

There are 52 weeks in a year. Guys have longer and more grueling training camps now than they did 50 years ago. Fighting three times a year would mean up to 30 weeks of the year in camp. Guys at the top level are naturally going to want time to rest and recharge before killing themselves again.

Not to mention what TV networks are going to buy all of these fights if all of the top fighters fight 3-4 times a year? The economics don't work.

They sure worked for Mike Tyson. Things have to change, but it can be done. Not just fights, either. Public appearances would help a lot too.

the formula is easy the problems is the $$$$$$$$$ shorts teh people involed in boxing that can make it happen will have to take and it just not realistic when people have built a life around x amount coming in they can no longer afford to take those shorts, as it is boxing right now is daily grind to get the money.

Yeah, I meant the old days where he was on TV all the time. Once a guy has a name, sure. Twice a year will do, but not when he's coming up. Familiarity takes a while.
