So he's gonna fight Saunders then go sparring again and promote the biggest fight of his career? All in 3 months? It sounds a bit irresponsible on Loeffler's part. There's not much promotion taking place for GGG fights but GBP does more promotion and tours for their fights. It took 4 months for the Liam Smith fight, 6 months for the Cotto fight, and it's been 8 months since the Liam Smith fight for the Chavez Jr fight.

They're also not accounting for negotiations, from the sounds of it, GGG wants 50-50 or something like that. So how they say 3 months is enough to promote the fight when before promotion starts, there has to be an agreement on all specifics?

I think some posters are being irrational on questioning Eric Gomez for saying that more than 3 months is needed.
That all would've been valid considerations if GBP been a trustworthy party. But we all know this is not the case. Be honest with yourself and tell - do you believe that GBP really wants this fight with GGG as opposed to just using his name for the purpose of pretending that Canelo is such a warrior that takes all comers?

The thing with this sentence is, that Canelo has literally and actually taken on all comers. Everyone who people claim he's ducking, he fights.

I can't say the same for GGG, who was okay with fighting Chavez Jr at 168, but not Ward. Sounds familiar? Canelo being okay with going for Chavez Jr, but not GGG in the meantime?

Looking at their history, while Canelo is currently the heel among fans, and GBP the baby face, it's actually been Canelo who's taken on the best fighters around his weight class. Some fans are being ass backwards.

There will be a reason. GGG gonna still be licking his wounds from the ass beating Jacobs is gonna give him.

Jacobs needs a 10-12 week training camp for GGG. He also wanted an interim fight. Add protracted negotiations, so probably not. You were saying they should have took him to purse bids and had him stripped of his mando, in which case they'd probably never take his scalp

but, you can remember it however makes you happy
Canelo could have fought at 155, while ggg was at 160, they would both be at mw, you say canelo conceded on the weight 155 is mw, 160 is mw, did you forget that Camelot said he would fight him at 160 the night he beat khan, then he bent over and offered his arse along with the belt to ggg, how much has he offered and what conditions are attached to the offer, have you seen the offer or are you just repeating what others have said, I don't know what the offer is and I wouldn't believe anything GBP have said about the offer, they have lied repeatedly already concerning ggg

Canelo's own promoters - Dela Hoya & Hopkins fought separate fights in June '04, that lead to their big fight in September '04. Nobody knew who Felix Sturm with his WBO title or who Robert Allen were.

And with Canelo fighting in May, that mean there's a month's difference between Canelo/Chavez & Golovkin/Saunders, they're not missing out. They probably wouldn't even start promoting Golovkin/Alvarez til 2-3 weeks after Canelo/Chavez, which means they'd only miss 1-2 weeks of this promoting.
And Felix strum got blatently robbed for that fight to go down Oscar barely won a round.

Canelo said please let me have 1 fight to acclimatise to MW and GOLOKIN allowed him, canelo then went and fought the chinnyest WW in the rankings to acclimatise to MW, then bent over and copped it like the b1tch he is and gave away the belt, he had no intension so of fighting GGG, if he did he would have fought a genuine MW to acclimatise to 160. Your a fool
