Twas a great performance from David the dancing destroyer Lemeiux. No, Stevens wasn't a top ten contender at this stage in his career.. He is an exciting pug who has served up a few one punch ko' s of his own.
Lemeiux's power was never in doubt. To me, I think that he is in the top 3 of the division. That he wanted to unify with 3G still has to be applauded. As another poster commented, he didn't BJS his belt or enjoy a slew of "showcase" title defenses.
As for what's next, Lemeiux earned another date on HBO and in this day that's gold. Andy Lee and Lemeiux are made for each other. Both ex titlists, both have name recognition and both are tv friendly fighters.

Interested in how your grading system works if top 5 fighters are "maybe C+".

Funny thing, a division of like 3, he's 3rd...that's awesome for him.

Middleweight is a good division right now. Golovkin, Alvarez, Lemieux, Jacobs, Saunders, Lee, Eubank, etc., but (almost not needing to finish my sentence) they need to fight each other.
A good division? But without geale and macklin....

In a weak division, they are rated lower...hence why lemiuex is C or C+.

Lemieux not in the top 30? Stevens a fringe fighter?

Did either of you watch the fight?

Boxrec's competerized rating system puts Lemieux at #3 and Stevens at #26 - which seem defensible. I'd love to see Lemieux fight Canelo and think he'd have a good chance of scoring an upset.
So what does that make joaquin alcine then?
