Someone suggested Jayson Velez for his next opponent, that's a good shout. Give him one or two more decent tune-ups and then give him a real fight with a decent purse. Arum and Lomachenko have mentioned him a couple of times, though as a Loma fan it would now be quite low on my list of priorities

oh now layoff matter huh? u didnt say that shh about walters and walters wasnt fightin no darn rene alvardo...

i'll just keep it real with you..u dont know wat u're watching unless it is cute and drawn out for you.

anyone can look good on defense and feinting at a slow pace...fast hands with horrible punchy slapping techniques that end up by his waist after he throws are not a blessing...

i know what u're doing here..but im done

Yes; it's safe to say something like this...

Not sure why so many people are being hard on gamboa. The fight was a stinker because Alvardo gave up. After a few rounds realized gamboa was too fast and decided he wasnt willing to go for broke to try and win. He played if safe content losing virtually every round but not risk getting knocked out. Gamboa was coming off a long layoff and was fighting a decent fighter who wouldn't open up. He needs at least another tune up fight with an opponent that really wants to fight.

Gamboa is not known as a boring fighter matter fact he has been in tons of exciting fights. It being boring is more about his opponent who is usually a high volume fighter showing up and having about 1/3 the round punch output he normally avgs. Alvardo refused to engage and throw because he didn't want to get counterpunched and knocked out.

People acting like gamboa is a known stinker like rigo. SMH

There were somethings that I liked from Gamboa here. I wanted more though.
For now, I am not too interested in Loma-Gamboa unless Gamboa can go capture one of the other belts.
It doesn't seem like Corrales wants to fight Loma so why not get Gamboa with Corrales. Maybe Corrales would fight Gamboa.

Because there is an obvious difference there,Walters was only off the shelf 5 months longer then he normally fight,he fights around every 6 or 8 months, the lomachenko layoff was 11 months,Gamboa 15 months inactive, and that's coming off of 1 fight with 1 year of inactive prior. that ain't the same thing and you know that......

You are right, and it takes two to tangle, the dude average 85 punches per round, he barely went over 30, so the "experts" want Gamboa just go for it blindly, so if he gets ktfo then he is really done, I saw a better Gamboa, still think he should have another trainer, 131lbs is the lower he is been in awhile and am sure, against a more willingly boxer, it would have been a better fight, against crawford a much bigger fighter he looked fantastic, even when he was hurt he caught crawford and almost finished the fight, I think there is some gas in the tank and he only needs a dancing partner...
