They can make a deal before purse bids. There's no incentive for Beterbiev to do that though. Why offer more money to make a tough fight when you can let the guy pull out over money, get a title shot fighting a softer opponent or just be given one?

"Several IBF ranked contenders in the top ten had refused to fight Beterbiev - until Barrera answered the call." Lol , says everything about Bieterbiev that you need to know... Whish he'd gone after Stevenson instead though, that guy is facing nobody

        2) considering the fact that you are nobody, did you offer him 50/50?

        3) if answer to #2 is no, then stop crying

a good fighter, enjoying his work so far and enjoying the fact that he appears to be prepared to fast-track..... but stop with the lame party-line technicalities

your proposition was not attractive enough for Barrera, for WHATEVER reason..... /story

Normally I would be on Barreras side it should be a better split but his Promoter is Duva and the **** she pulled on Tyson and tried with Adonis
... this is Michel sticking it to her as payback at her fighters expense....

most likely coz it was shht

how/why did you decide to mention skin color ?????
Exactly. Skin color has nothing to do with it. This is business. Even if Barrera makes peanuts his next fight his name is still viable as long as he wins. If he loses this fight for peanuts he goes to the back of the line making peanuts. The ABC orgs are playing favorites. It's been done before, but at least pay the guys who have paid their dues.

If he's comfortable fighting lesser fighters and ducking Kovalev, that's on him.

            thats it right there

It looks like Barrera signed expecting more money from ME but they balked and he walked

You can't really blame either guy IMO. It would be ****** for Barrera to take 25% when if anything he's the more known fighter, it would be ****** for Beterbiev to offer a bigger split to make a tough fight when he's so close to a title shot.

Nah, can't blame him for this.

25% of the split against a huge name might be accepted, but 25% against a relative unknown? No chance.

Personally this seems like Michel is getting a bit of payback at Duva for the WBC stunt she pulled... he's in a position of power and is putting the screws to her...He knows AB and SB are the same status(Barrera might be a bit higher to be honest) but he using his leverage to his advantage.... it's messed up but that's Karma.

Thought this would have been a good fight for Beterbiev, sucks he only has 11 fights and people already do not want to fight him.
