If it was so important to grab Saunders belt then why didn't he do it last year he pulled out negotiations last year with Saunders to fight Wade instead because he didn't want to pay him. Then went and fought Brook who didn't have a belt either. And then wasted time with Jacobs that made it almost impossible to get 2 fights in before Canelo in Sept. All a sudden now when he has an offer on the table for Canelo he gives a phuk about Saunders belt when he could of fought him anytime last year or fought him in March instead of Jacobs? At the same time he is still begging to fight Floyd a retired welterweight who last I checked also doesn't have a middleweight belt. His punk trainer wanted to fight Chavez even called it his dream fight before Canelo took it and he doesn't have a belt. It's funny how GGG screams about how important these paper belts at 160 are when he's ducking fighters. Wasn't that the excuse for why he couldn't move up to fight Ward? And then turns around and wastes last year fighting house arrest Wade and Welterweight Brook because those fights brought more money to his own pocket instead of fighting Saunders.

That's not how it works when it comes to Canelo, kid.

GGG can bring 100 gift belts, it still won't make a difference.

BS that was a different era and you know it. When superstars fought 3-4 times a year. When Oscar fought 1 PPV then a couple regular HBO fights a year. Those days are long gone Oscar late in his career in the 2000's never fought more then twice a year. Manny and Floyd the biggest stars in the PPV era once they became PPV stars fought a max of only Twice a year. Hell even guys who aren't stars like Thurman and Garcia are only fighting twice a year. Now top fighters fight less and have more time to hype and promote fights to maximize their pay. Guys like Canelo, Cotto, Manny, Floyd when is the last time either guy fought 3 or more times a year? Or signed a interim fight so close to the date of a big fight that is already agreed on? It doesn't happen today.

GGG and team should make the June fight if they want to. Stop letting GBP stall your career.

GGG could have one of the greatest years in recent memory if he can get Jacobs, Saunders, and Canelo all in the ring and beat all 3.

Saunders or whoever has his belt will ALWAYS be there. Fights that pay you as much as a Canelo fight or have the ability to take your career to another level are rare.
ggg can fight bjs in june and ducknelo in sept you clown. three months of promotion is enough and don't give me this nonsense about injuries ggg has no history of suffering cuts/injuries. this is just another excuse from the phaggots at golden boy to avoid the fight.if saunders is such a loser why has your team put their guy in position to fight for his "meaningless paper belt" and wanted him on their undercard?

GGG should fight Saunders to unify the division. Canelo dont want the fight. He will never hold a belt again as he can't make 154 much longer and is too small for 168. he should stay fighting mismatches and making alot of money until GGG retires or shows weakness

                  That math isn't quite correct.

As for the excuse that fighters use more time to hype and promote fights...yeah, that's not quite accurate.

There's a lot of boxers who would fight more often if the networks and promoters could find the money and room on their calendars to do it...and the time spent on the sidelines for those that don't isn't because they're too busy hyping and promoting their fights.

As for blaming the era....Golovkin fought 4 times in '13, 3 times in '14 and 3 times in '15.

If he wants 3 fights this year, he deserves credit for it...especially if the opponents he wants to fight are Jacobs, Saunders and Canelo.

Furthermore, Golovkin should go ahead and make the fight (if he beats Jacobs), and make GBP trot out this lame excuse for not making the fight.

Just because Canelo is on a two-fight-per-year diet doesn't mean other fighters need to do the same.

Eric Gomez - "I didn't know Golovkin was going to fight in June? We can't have that!"

Bob Arum - "Golovkin's fighting Saunders in June and Canelo will duck him in September".
