so beating the last two undisputed/lineal champions, winning the lineal title didnt mean more than fighting for the WBO vs an unknown fight in margo?

being real, you sound like you are desperate for something to complain about.....have at it bro, you dont have to like facts for them to be valid....

answer the question straight fam...no Oscar deal was on the table when Mayweather was offered Margarito for 8 million...he turned down Margarito for Baldomir right?

he was *****ing and moaning about money, they offered him 8 million for Margarito, he turned it down and fought Baldomir for less....that sounds like facts to me..tell me if I am wrong without the fluff...

not the facts at all.....he fought baldomir for more money and would have fought margarito if arum promised hatton and cotto fights after which of course arum said no. These were arum's words.

My question was, did Mayweather reject an offer to fight Margarito for 8 million, and take the Baldomir fight for less. I was correct except it was for the same money more or less, and no Oscar fight was on the table at that time, he had just became a free agent.

        espn 4/25/06 (Rejecting Margarito)

Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out and become a promotional free agent, Arum told ESPN.com on Monday.

espn 8/15 06 (announcing Baldomir fight)

Although terms of Mayweather's deal with Goossen were not released, industry sources believe he will make at least $8 million, plus a percentage of pay-per-view profits. Mayweather rejected the same offer from Top Rank to face titlist Antonio Margarito.

bruh..what point are even trying to make?

          Lineal championship>WBO trinket

is you issue is you think he ducked margarito? who ducks someone to fight better opponents after? doesnt make sense, after baldomir he fought ODLH AND HATTON

do you really think Margarito was going to beat him?

why are you concerned about what the fighters make if the money was similar and the stakes were higher vs Baldomir....he had more to gain with that fight....doesnt take a genius to figure that out

like you pocketing money off that...smh...

dude you miss the point every time...f**k arum...he turned down margarito for carlos freaking baldomir for the lineal title...

one of these days you clowns will get it...legacywise that hurt the dude...even the actual fight with Baldomir was so lopsided half the arena left...then dude tried to cop an attitude when Merchant called him on it, and you Floyd diehards will still sit here and try to excuse it away any way you can, instead of just saying yeah man, that was a bad move...

So he made more off the back end with baldomir then he would've if he fought margarito.... arum wouldn't guarantee the hatton and cotto fights after margarito....two fighters many of y'all said he was ducking at the time.....why didn't arum let floyd fight margarito, cotto and hatton?.....margarito wasn't a fighter to be ducked because he hadn't beaten anyone of note at that time and he was paper champion. He's not a hofer and he's not A level at all.

also if he fought margarita he could have been injured for the rest of his career seeing that marg was a cheater.
