Ortiz is #2 in the WBC now, is the #1 in the WBA, and #6 in the IBF...#4 by Ring Magazine, and #3 by TBRB (above Wilder). According to many, he has done enough to warrant a shot against Wilder or any champ.

He should tell Hearn to get him a mandatory shot then. If Don King can do it for Stiverne, surely Hearn can get him that shot?

He could've asked for an eliminator with Jarrell Miller or basically anyone if he's willing to pay enough. He's not willing to fork out that money though.

Nope. But right now, the boxing community looks at Wilder that's taken the path of least, scratch that. A guy that's taken the path of NO resistance to reach the status he holds in the sport. And coming out prioritizing the weakest beltholder in the division validates that.

It's not much of a statement if any of the top 4 guys beat one of the others. They are all flawed and or raw.

They're heavyweights. Unlike a guy like GGG, who has the option of going to different divisions to face better opposition. The only options heavyweights have us to fight the best out there.

Haye was wildly inactive and NO ONE stateside thought he was a bona fide contender and this fight proved it. He's a shot fighter and doesn't garner nearly the attention you give him.

Everyone who is involved in Boxing - ask any of the promoters - knows that Haye was avoided, for many reasons. No one wanted to fight him.

The main reason is most boxers in the division are more concerned with easy fights, fights that suit their style and the thought of facing Haye was too risky.

Haye may be a shot fighter, but the guy achieved more in his prime than many boxers have in their career.

None have but this is boxing. Boxers pick fights to keep their record. They hide behind promoters who guide them through their career.

Say what you like about Haye, but look at his achievements in his natural division, never shied away from a challenge.

Whether the boxing community sees Wilder as the weakest beltholder or not is irrelevant when talking Wilder seeking the weakest available competition. Right now, the Joshua-Klitschko winner is gonna be viewed as the class of the division. That's who should be wanting to fight next, and he doesn't.

As for making the most money possible. He's being paid very handsomely to fight janitors, cab drivers, and warehouse workers in Alabama. He's stolen a lot of money already. Those people down there have such low boxing IQs, and overall IQs in general, he could continue doing what he's doing for a long time. But in his heart, he knows he ain't the real champ. I would think personal pride would step in at some point.

If Ortiz wants the fight, his promoter needs to put an offer on the table that Wilder's team cannot resist. If they turn that down, then they can talk.

That's how business works.

It works both ways. Ortiz doesn't exactly have a team that could make a big offer. But with Wilder being with Haymon, he certainly is.

If they have no problems getting bums to fight, they'd have no problems getting a fighter who is calling him out to fight.
