Execellent! Good to see the thread promoting healthy arguments regarding the efficacy of IV vs oral rehydration.Comment

Why would they the****utically recommend something above another thing, if it's not better? fool.
It's not recommended because it's cheaper, because it's cleaner, etc. No, it's recommended because it's the****utically better. Besides the fact that it's cleaner for the sport.Comment

I feel you need an IV to rehydrate properly then you should not be fighting in the division you are and should move up and make weight healthily. These guys sucking down and looking like zombies to gain an advantage don't deserve to get rehydrated with an IVComment

If they want to deter people from draining massive amounts of weight? its a very simple fix! we should go back to (Same Day) weigh ins! i actually think that will add to the drama of boxing, and even the playing field! it will actually force allot of boxers to be more professional as well! dehydration alone can cause brain damage, and just damage in general to all organs in your body!Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 03-04-2017, 01:17 PM.Comment

make the guys weight in as they are entering the ring... give a few pounds for trunks, gloves, etc... but penalize fighter if he is way over...Comment

I don't know... In theory, if all boxers were smart and didn't try anything ******/drastic, it'd be great, but in reality, I think it could cause more injuries.Comment

To me that doesn't even seem like the right way to go. I think part of getting a boxing license should include defining a healthy weight range for the boxer getting the license. How you go about that is up for discussion, but there are plenty of options & possible ways to go about it (I'd suggest a urine gravity test & some BMI or BMI-ish type criteria would be a good start) that doesn't make making weight a sport within a sport like 24hr or same day weigh ins allow for.
Look at the list of boxers who seem to suffer from depression, or borderline eating disorders! I think the reason for these behaviors, is the culture of making weight....(Which is more intense for the fighters in the lower divisions!).
As soon as they can live normal athletic lives? allot of boxers ether become obese, or alcoholics.Comment
