By the way that was a rhetorical question.
then consider your rhetorical question designed to produce effect or make a statement to have actually elicited some information.

If you think he gets away with fighting like that against opposition such as Ortiz or Joshua for 4 or 5 rounds unpunished to then just "end it with one punch" then you'd be sorely mistaken and my original statement carries weight and still rings true, rhetorical question or otherwise.

a WBC champion, fighting a level of opposition unworthy of being a challenger does not provide a shining a light for themselves or the sport when, despite the terrible judges scorecards, they are in the eyes of the vast majority.. losing.

      • Alright, now that Wilder has another tuneup out of the way..please...PLEASE..make a proper effort to get a top tier guy in the ring.

No more hallow callouts with zero intention of following through - mean it this time.

We need to find out if his one shot power is enough to make up for poor boxing ability - against a proper fighter.

oh tin foil terry . . . had you actually paid attention, you would have seen washington stumbling across the ring, unable to stand until the ropes held him up. which is why the commentators corrected themselves and realized it was a wise stoppage.

they didn't show replays because they were in a rush to get off the air before they ate into another quarter hour of the local news. they were already over time and local affiliates need to get their newscast in.

tin foil terry . . . always coming up with the most moronic conspiracy theories . . .

              • Ortiz has yet to be in the ring with a guy with big power. Big difference getting hit by Wilder or Joshua then it is by Jennings, Scott or Thompson. So nobody really know how well his old chin will last. Klitschko is 41 & we will soon know what happens to him or Joshua. Wilder has the power to take out any HW with one punch. He has just as good a chance as consolidating the belts as anyone else. The top guys will be careful fighting him. There is Parker, Klitschko, Fury, Ortiz, Haye & Joshua to fight. Povetkin is pretty much done as an opponent for the near future. Those are some big names that should be fighting each other. Ortiz will get one of them in the next year. You got Pulev, Whyte, Hughie & several others waiting for eliminators or voluntaries. Christian Hammer is near the top of the WBO now after his eliminator win over David Price. Takam, Duhaupas, Briggs/Oquendo/Ustinov winner can be added. Helenius & chisora will still be hanging around. Trevor Bryan if he ever gets another fight could get in there. There are lots of fights to make. Breazeale & Washington are still there.

He had that one fight against Szpilka at the Barclays Center and that was a Polish house in there.

Wilder will end up fighting Parker in New Zealand if that gets locked in.

                  • The moment Wilder FINALLY DECIDED TO THROW MORE THAN ONE JAB he got the KO. Man he was pissing me off throwing one punch at a time.

                    • Wilder did fight very passively tonight which is not the best way for anyone to fight and certainly not Wilder. He just needs to focus on being more proactive with working his right hand and jabbing with authority.

It is not like Washington was really doing much to Wilder, it was just Wilder did nothing for the first three rounds. If a dude sits and jabs from the outside eventually Wilder is going to come with a right hand when the lay one out there lazily or get too predictable with it. Wilder is really dangerous from that position still or even in a bit closer if a guy throw a jab from a bit too close because his short right hand is one that he ends a lot of fights with.

A guy has to fight a very mistake free fight to really beat him, because all it takes is one slip up for a fight to change.
