Everyone should understand -- the fight would be in Sept & both fighters have one -- maybe 2 interim fights.

We are in THE EARLY STAGES of negotiations. If you enjoy the back and forth, than fine.

I don't anticipate negotiations to end until around May.

Loeffler should return the favor and publicize ALL the terms in the GBP offer. But he wont. He will still sit quietly in the corner and play the "Switzerland" role while Oscar and Canelo try to make him look like a clown day in and day out.

The BOSS move Loeffler could make here would be to secure the Saunders fight for June, and publicly withdraw from any further Canelo negotiations. Control all 4 belts, and if Canelo ever wants to win a middleweight belt then screw negotiating with those clowns, send it to purse bid. Even if Canelo petitions the sanctioning body for a better split, worse case scenario would be 50-50.

Great post, Oscar is full of it, and Canelo as well putting up all the lies and excuses and now desperately trying to blame GGG for the fight not happening.

I just wish Loeffler could change, but apparently he cant. He is just too nice and respectful. Luckily its not 6 months, the fight will be dead by the end of June/early July. Thats the latest Canelo has to announce his September fight.

Really hope that GGG gets Saunders in June, but Saunders is another case of a terrible bigmouthed coward and you never know what will or will not happen, who knows, maybe Saunders even has another fake injury, sits out for half a year and makes another shady deal with the WBO so he can fight Canelo in September.

That's the thing that most people don't get..... GGG is half of the equation in regards to why people want to see this fight. Canelo needs him too, it's his only fight that has a real chance of doing a million + buys. There are a lot of fans that aren't interested in paying for upcoming fights of both guys but will fork over their $70 for Canelo vs GGG.

We don't know how well this fight will do, the possibilities in terms of buys are quite high and Golovkin deserves a deal that sees his earnings grow alongside the PPV numbers, how does Khan get a percentage but Golovkin doesn't?? .... what PPV had Khan sold or been involved in? ..... before anyone tells me Khan made less than 15 million, of course he did... it was a much smaller fight than Canelo vs GGG. Golovkin is a bigger draw than Khan as far as any US based fight is concerned, why is a better draw getting a proportionally worse deal?

Canelo and GBP just seem to send trash offers to whoever they aren't interested in fighting. Chavez Jr's career was literally in the bin before this fight which is why they could **** him in negotiations.

I'll say it again...... I have never heard of anyone accepting a flat fee in the biggest fight in the sport and I don't think it should start with Golovkin. Doesn't matter what he's made before this fight, he's a unified champion, consensus top 5 p4p fighter and Canelo's strongest B side option by far.

It does matter how much you've got paid in the past. You don't go from 2 million to 15 million in the boxing game. Canelo is not floyd mayweather. None of canelo fights has done 1 million buys and the ggg fight probably won't either

Team golovkin would be ****** to risk a 15 million dollar flat fee just to get a percentage of a ppv fight that may do less than a million buys.

This ain't mayweather/Pacquiao. Canelo vs golovkin isn't guaranteed to do a million buys.

plus what's Golovkin's alternative? Keep fighting for 2 million dollars per fight? It would take golovkin at least 7 more fights to make 15 million dollars without canelo.

Canelo can fight cotto again or chavez again and make 8 figures. Golovkin has nobody to turn to to make 8 figures. Team canelo knows this and that is why they are playing hardball.

on its face its not "terrible", but you are assuming its a clean deal with no options or other obvious landmines. Unfortunately though Loeffler sits there and smiles like a ******ed kid instead of putting the other terms on main street. I can pretty much guarantee you the "offer" contained 1 or all of the following:

1. Options demand on GGG

2. Language setting financial terms on rematch

3. Escape clause letting Canelo out of the deal.

I guarantee you there is an escape clause, because if there wasnt then they wouldnt be able to execute the rematch clause that is in the chavez deal.

But in the end none of that matters. Fights of this magnitude are done on percentage deals. Might be more than 15, might be less. But they are willing to take their chances that its less so why the heavy resistance from Golden Boy? hmmmm............
