Canelo wont be, thats for sure. He vacated his 154 title and there is no title on the line for the Chavez fight.

But you are correct in that should GGG lose to Jacobs, this all becomes moot......

Last we discussed the bet we couldn't figure out exactly what happened. I said then that if proven to have lost I will pay up as I have with other things here on NSB.
I know what happened, and I posted the link to the thread. YOU were the one claiming there had been some kind of revision to the bet, yet you provided nothing whatsoever to back that up.

But dont worry about it. I figured all along that you would never pay up so its all good.

        Interesting.......
How many "mega-fights" in history involve a guy who has never done more than 200,000 buys getting an "alleged" $15 million guarantee?

An "alleged" $15 million guarantee eliminates a lot of the risk of the fight not doing as well as anticipated. And when you look at the numbers for recent major boxing events that wouldn't surprise me. Either he takes the "alleged" $15 million guarantee or takes something like $5 million plus a percentage of the upside.

It wouldn't be the first time a B-side fighter caved in negotiations just to get the fight done so he can get the career defining win and enhance his future earning power.

Canelo is right to lowball GGG., dude will destroy his marketability and shave five years off of his career. Once GGG has touched your crotch and slid you his length fighters are never the same.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this as a competitive fight ?

Everyone keeps focusing on the alleged $15 million number, as if thats the end-all be-all. Is Golden Boy demanding options on GGG? Is Golden Boy trying to limit GGGs revenue in a rematch?

There is much more to a deal like this then just the money. Some of the more ignorant posters here cant comprehend that, but I dont put you in that category. Believe me, if the deal was clean and as good as some people are claiming, it would have been accepted. I dont know why people are acting as if Golden Boy is now some kind of 503c1 charitable organization and is putting out such an incredible fair amazing offer.....lol

would be hella funny if lil'g loses to Jacobs and Brooklyn boy starts to talk about Sept. or Dec. for a fight with Alvarez. Then we've got Charlo, Andrade, and Lara moving up. meanwhile Abel and Gennady are training in Kazakhstan for the WBF against Kanat Islam. One Punch would be so happy, while Loeffler reads this message so greasily on that brocoli!

I dont want the dough, because that wasnt the bet. The bet was to donate a c-note to the charity of the winners choice, and post a receipt. My chairty of choice is either the March of Dimes or the Lupus Foundation of America. You can pick whichever one you choose......

That's the thing that most people don't get..... GGG is half of the equation in regards to why people want to see this fight. Canelo needs him too, it's his only fight that has a real chance of doing a million + buys. There are a lot of fans that aren't interested in paying for upcoming fights of both guys but will fork over their $70 for Canelo vs GGG.

We don't know how well this fight will do, the possibilities in terms of buys are quite high and Golovkin deserves a deal that sees his earnings grow alongside the PPV numbers, how does Khan get a percentage but Golovkin doesn't?? .... what PPV had Khan sold or been involved in? ..... before anyone tells me Khan made less than 15 million, of course he did... it was a much smaller fight than Canelo vs GGG. Golovkin is a bigger draw than Khan as far as any US based fight is concerned, why is a better draw getting a proportionally worse deal?

Canelo and GBP just seem to send trash offers to whoever they aren't interested in fighting. Chavez Jr's career was literally in the bin before this fight which is why they could **** him in negotiations.

I'll say it again...... I have never heard of anyone accepting a flat fee in the biggest fight in the sport and I don't think it should start with Golovkin. Doesn't matter what he's made before this fight, he's a unified champion, consensus top 5 p4p fighter and Canelo's strongest B side option by far.
