After all, it was HBO that had set him up to fail by making him jump up an entire weight class; In order to fight a naturally larger, stronger and undefeated fighter, in the hopes of him losing, keeping him off their network and most importantly keeping GGG's record intact.
However, he defied all the odds by winning and playing by their set of rules. So now he feels he has every right and moral obligation to tell them all to kiss his ass.Comment

Look at all the Wardfanboys firstly trying to desperately justify the robbery, when only a tiny minority thought Ward actually won, now justifying this pathetic behavior.
' er he just is trying to get a good deal!!!'
no, he's being a punk, this is diva behavior 101, He signed the contract so you have to honor the contract.
He clearly won't, got a spare 4 mill to pay off kovalev in court fraudy wardy?
don't think so.Comment

HBO doesn't give a crap about who's undefeated or who's defeated. The world doesn't revolve around Ward. Nobody is 'trying to get him beat'. They gave him a commentator gig when he taking dying Goosen to court. Your little conspiracy theories are laughable.
And nobody made him jump anything. In Ward's own words, he can't make 168, and in everyone's words, he cleaned out 168. On top of all of that, in his own words he wanted to win a HW title someday. When you're struggling to make weight and you cleaned out your divison is the absolute, undisputable time to move up.

People who defend Ward's promotional antics are the worst scum on this forum. You can like a fighter but not defend his antics.Comment

And what you're saying is not even true. Tito's legacy still isn't quite the same after he struggled so much against Oscar. Even though he got the win, people remember what went down, both ways.
And you say Ward doesn't owe them anything? He signed a contract that says he owes them a rematch per court of law, so what are you even talking about. You just sound dumb. Every single point you made was ****** if not outright unethical and selfish. I award you no points, etc. Just a terrible comment. You can do better.Comment

Like how can you be a fan of this guy? GGG fights guys bigger than him every fight, and you complain about him, but Ward's team cries about fighting guys they admit are his size. They even said Ward was a scaled down light heavyweight at 168, but now at light heavyweight they're saying he doesn't belong at that weight class. Which is it? HBO has been kissing Ward's ass for years. It's Ward and his team who are always contradicting themselves and making him look ridiculous. HBO has been consistent. They've said for years Ward is better than he actually is, but when Kovalev kicked his a**, they had to be a little honest anyway, while still going out of their way to kiss Ward's ass, "only a great fighter can win this fight, and Ward did amazing to come back and make it a fight that could have gone either way. Virgil deserves so much credit." They even gave Virgil trainer of the year on the fight game!
I mean bro if you don't know this yet, then you are just too biased and blinded by your own bias. You will ride with anything Team Ward says at this point, your brain isn't even analyzing anything on its own at this point. You're completely hypnotized by your bias towards them. Snap out of it man you sound as crazy as they do.Comment

Yes. Just like the rest of the world, when you sign a contract you're expected to honor it or face repercussions. Corporations have gone bankrupt because of a bad contract. Why should a boxer be given special treatment?
This is a bunch of bull****.

More bull****. You should take a trip to Oakland where you can lend your shoulder to Ward to cry on.

Easy killer. I get you are annoyed but some perspective.
Also, I think HBO cares about fighters being undefeated in this day and age. I think if GGG were to lose that would significantly reduce interest and profitability of the GGG/Canelo fight.Comment
