wow , you have plenty of time to develop..

I'm like 22 and started when I was 20. however I did lots of hvy bag work at home and stuff when I was 16-19, still it's nothin like being in the gym at 17, sounds like you'll be on top in your prime if ya work hard. go pro and get your first 30 wins via the ko.

The key word there is IF. I sometimes lack the focus to stay in the gym. I'm sometimes lazy, but when I'm in the gym I'm really good. My trainer tells me my greatest asset is my love for the sport. Alot of kids my age don't really love the sport, and come in the gym for 2 weeks and leave.

yeah man I tell you what. start workin on squat and deadlift and get your lifts up to like 2x your bodyweight and you will be a hard punching son of a ***** when you are around age 19, especially if u go up explosively on every repetition. i guarantee if you do some explosive olympic lifts also youll be the hardest puncher at your gym, however after each set id shadowbox full speed for about 30 seconds, just so when the muscle forms you wont lose as much speed. some say lifting will slow you down, but the truth is you should do it while you are 17-19ish, and develop that core strength.

I do some lifting, but the weights at my gym are limited. I will start thinking about that. Right now I'm at 145, so I want to lose weight first and then go into heavy lifting so I can maintain my weight.

yeah, luckily I'm a heavyweight, 250+ lb, so I don't ever have to worry about my weight.

When you're 5"6, it's difficult to get to heavyweight. It's a *****, believe me. And I don't have big arms at all, it's just my legs that are big.

legs are all that really matters anyway, (looks at naz's biceps) that guy had arms like a little kid.

yeah, I wish I was smaller, it sucks to fight in a division where guys are punching unhealthily hard, luckily ive never been on the canvas nor have i gotten caught with a flush professional heavyweight hook, sometimes I wish I was smaller when I watch Bowe speak etc. Scares me, I don't ever want to be like that..but then again that risk is why I love the sport like I do,and why I respect all the greats.

btw does anyone famous train at your gym? since your in jersey I assume theres a few guys I might know at your place

My trainers are Edwin Luis Rivera (15-13) and former NABF Light Heavyweight Champ Jimmy Dupree. I see Joe Gatti alot, and Hector Acero-Sanchez frequents the Union City Gym I'm at. What makes me take my shots so well is that I get hit flush with them and I see and anticipate them. Its ****** for the long run I guess.
