What is there for Canelo after that?
Rematches with Cotto, Chavez Jr or Lara? These are not megafights.
I guess fight for WBO title would be the most logical next step for Canelos career. Other than that every other fight would be high risk or low profit. So GGG fight would be very appealing for GBP.
Canelo will fight Saunders in September for his WBO title
Golovkin refused Canelo's offer, Saunders will accept
GGG has refused a LOT of things during his largely uneventful career

he was Golovkin's best possible payday
then, Golovkin did the exact same thing to Canelo
that is the opposite to what most fighters would do
BIZARRE !!
and yet, nobody batted an eyelid

Golovkin had no right to command anything in reference to Cotto, and he does not have one with Canelo.
Bear in mind that Loeffler said that Golovkin had no issues going down to 155 to fight Canelo before the Cotto-Canelo fight, and then when Canelo won he called Loeffler's bluff. When that happened, Golovkin team was like "oh hold on a minute we fight at the 160 limit!!!"

Eubank Jr, Chavez Jr would be financially on par or better fights than Jacobs.
Charlos and Andrade are potential PPV by the next year or two.
Murata can probably be very profitable event or PPV somewhere in Macau.
Ramirez or DeGale would also be PPV fights, when GGG decides to move up a little.
Most of this fights would be very risky for Canelo, not so much for GGG. So he has nice payday options besides Canelo.

The only really interested party in WBO belt is Team GGG. I believe they can offer even more money to BJS than Canelo.
