That's nonsense. McGregor has been the biggest thing in combat sports now for at least the past 12-18 months.

I'm not a UFC fan but that's just the truth, it's just some boxing fans don't want to admit it.

hmmm mcgregor has sold 1.2 to 1.6 million ppvs the last 4 fights. floyd didnt crack 1 million in his last 4 besides the pac fight obviously which was a combination of both guys popularity and the whole 5 year tease. why do people pretend floyd is super popular on his own? he needs someone else. conor does not. he fought guys that weren't even headlining ppvs and did much better than floyd.

What people fail to talk about is Mayweather PPV's cost more than ufc/McGregor PPV's. Meaning it cheaper to order a UFC card vs Mayweather card. If they were the same price i have no doubt Mayweather last 4 or 5 fight would have been over a million buys.

          "The biggest thing..." smh

When UFC's marketing priority is to push a locked athlete to sell its brand it is completely different protocol than boxing. Boxing has different promoters, managers, Network's, card sets, councils etc...

To say boxing fans don't "admit" is just ******. Completely different set of regulations. You're in a boxing forum. Doesn't matter if there are some fans here that like MMA, the truth is boxing in itself is far harder than MMA. In the hand striking game most boxers would knock out MMA fighters. Kicks and grappling are insecure forms to finish the "job." 20k years ago any random bloke would know "MMA" as more convenient than the advent pugilist rules

Foreman sounds like he doesnt follow MMA.

I dont really follow MMA and I didnt know who mcgreggor was before all of this floyd talk a year or so ago... but I recognize he was a huge MMA star and undefeated at the time so obviously he was known within MMA.

Foreman should clarify that Mcgreggor wasnt known within BOXING before talking mayweather.

one thing is certain, Conor McGregor IS piggy backing off of Mayweather's name, there is no denying that people. Need I remind everyone who's the one begging for this fight? If this fight ever happens, McGrergor will be eating crow and return to the UFC with his tail between his legs. This man has zero boxing skills and has no business stepping into the squared circle. He needs to stick with what he knows and continue to dominate that sport. Longevity creates legacy and at 24 fights, conor still has a ways to go.

I'm not talking about the difficulty of the sports. I'm a boxing fan and much prefer it.

However McGregor is more popular and talked about than any boxer around today. People who barely follow sports know him. Mainstream popular culture might be turd, but he is part of it. Foreman is wrong here.

There's a reason Floyd is even entertaining the idea of this fight and it's not for the love of fighting. He know's Conor brings mass appeal.

Really? Go ask your girlfriend, or your pops whether they've heard of Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather.

My wife thinks Conor McGregor is the actor from Trainspotting.
