The main reason why they are so popular is because of the promotional push of the UFC. Promoters exist for a reason and there is a reason the UFC is now a 4.2 billion dollar company. They know how to make stars.

Being linked to Floyd is not the only thing that made them big, I never said it was, but it definitely did help them gain greater fame. In 2015 Mayweather was the most successful and highest paid athlete in the world, it made sense for other combat stars to link themselves to him. When Ronda was knocked out Floyd Mayweather's name was trending on twitter and Facebook because of the media feud. I know several people personally who did not know who Ronda was or watch her fight until the press started saying she could beat Floyd, and Dana White ran with this. After her beef with Floyd her pay per view numbers went into the 1 million dollar buy mark whereas before they hadn't gotten near that number.

One of Conor's most viewed videos on youtube is when he says on Conan O'Brien's show that he would "dismantle Floyd." That helped get his name out into the mainstream. He then fought Mendes and then fought Aldo which was hyped up as the biggest featherweight fight in UFC history. He and Floyd had a spat in the media after that and BAM: Conor was now doing over 1 million buys just like Ronda was before her demise.

You have to be clueless not to spot the pattern. All these UFC and boxing guys have noticed it but you can't.
There is no "pattern"... just a very weak correlation that you've no evidence of actually being connected. Like I said before, the only reason anyone probably even cared at all is because Conor and Ronda were already relevant figures. A lot more people than just those two have called out Floyd before or talked **** about him and the coverage they got was marginal at best, and led nowhere.

And I'm sorry that your small circle of friends didn't know who Ronda was before she talked about Floyd, but plenty of people did. The media was already all over her ass and she was already covered plenty in books, magazines, TV shows, appearing at Wrestlemania (in what was by far the most covered segment of that partoicular WM I might add) etc. before her little spat with Mayweather even began. In fact, it all started because a reported asked Floyd about her to which he replied "Never heard of him", which she didn't take lightly.

You're the kind of guy to deny facts even when they are presented right to your face. You must be one of those people who think climate change is a hoax and humans have nothing to do with it.

And NO, plenty of people did not know who Ronda Rousey was years ago. She only became a mainstream star around 2015. I can point to her pay per view numbers as facts. Her numbers didn't hit one million until after she mentioned Floyd in the media. Sure she was a big name in the mma world but not a big name in the mainstream. She even said she used Floyd's name to promote her fights.

You keep saying Ronda and Conor were relevant figures already but can not explain why their numbers suddenly blew up in 2015. You have yet to explain how they became superstars almost overnight. You yourself admitted that you didn't know who Conor was until a few years ago. So no it is not just my circle of friends who didn't know these guys until not too long ago.

I've never had a conversation with George Foreman or Tito Ortiz but they seem to agree with me. As Tito Ortiz said "Conor should be happy Floyd is even mentioning his name"

"Can you move down or up and fight so and so?" asks a ****** clown close by. "Err...yea...I can... err?" Before you know it fighter so and so is on headlines everywhere saying he's calling out everyone including kingkong.
That's what happens in almost every case. Idiotic media guy asks about Mayweather, then all of a sudden fighter A is headlined calling out TBE, or Ward.

Wow, irony alert. The only ones denying facts is you, bruh. This entire discussion has been almost literally nothing but you doing that same thing over and over again - Constantly ignoring what I say and repeating what you've already said, always pretending you're bringing new points to the table and not just rehashing the same old BS. Everything you brought up in this here post is something I've already rebuttled plenty, so I'l cease doing so again to save myself some time.

And cong**** - George Foreman and Tit Ortiz agree with you. One guy from boxing, and one guy from MMA (a complete buffoon, at that) agree with you, I suppose there's nothing I can do to possibly counter that, is there?

George doesn't watch UFC. Watching two half-naked men hug each other gives him a case of the jibblies.
What the new unified champ said ^^^

You didn't rebuff anything brah. All you did was give baseless arguments. You couldn't use facts nor numbers or anything to support your argument. Just saying "they were already famous" but not being able to explain their sudden rise in popularity does not count as a counterargument.

And I'll take Foreman and Ortiz's side on this situation than the side of an anonymous fanboy on the internet.
