If he goes Rosado to acclimatize, Korobov to test. and then a title tilt that would be entirely acceptable and a normal way to step up.
I never agreed with all these idiots demanding Golovkin to step up to 168 and fight PfP top 5 Ward in his FIRST fight at 168.

Why not? Mayweather fought Dela Hoya in his first 154 bout, Cotto in his second (after going back to welterweight for a few fights), and Canelo in his third (after having gone back down to welterweight for Guerrero).

He also fought Castillo in his first bout at 135. So why, if Golovkin is as good as you coocksuckers say, could he not move up to fight Andre Ward?

Even Brook fought GGG in his first middlweight bout, and that was after moving up two divisions.

GGG won't even fight a guy one division down like Erislandy Lara, he'd rather continue to crush cans at middleweight.

Last year there was a triple header of Lara vs Vanes Martirosyan, Jermall Charlo vs Austin Trout, and Jermell Charlo vs John Jackson, all incredible title fights.

This year we've already had Jermall Charlo vs Julian Williams, and Andrade will become mandatory to both Lara and Jermell after he beats Culcay, so already right there we are guaranteed to have either Andrade vs Lara or Andrade vs Jermell in 2017.

Then you still got Miguel Cotto and Canelo who are still in the devision and don't forget we got other top contenders like Julian Williams, Jarret Hurd, Eriksen Lubin, and Tony Harrison.

The division is totally stacked.

Problem with that list is that aside from Canelo and Cotto, nobody cares about anyone else on the list. Canelo has made 154 once in the last 4 years, now fighting at 164.5. Cotto is on the pension tour and is looking to fight a retired Marquez at 150.

Andrade, Trout, Vanes, Lara, they've all been around for years and nobody cares about them. Not saying they aren't good fighters, just that they generate little or no interest even amongst boxing fans. Lara could have elevated himself but he laid an egg against Canelo.

Firstly, because Gennady Golovkin is at 160. And he's arguably the most talked about fighter in the sport today. If he wasn't there probably wouldn't be much interest in it, not until Jacobs stopped Quillin at least.

Secondly, despite ample opportunity the guys at 154 have never made any impact on the public imagination at all. So I would question how good they even are. Just because the division is competitive doesn't mean that it's good. There are a lot of pretty good fighters, but none of them have stood out from the crowd.

Not sure, I think GGG and Jacobs stop most of those 154 champion so called P4P beasts (Lara, Williams, Cotto, Lil charlo ).
