There were great small welters like Basilio who moved right up to middleweight when the cash register rang there.
Funny how the real ATG's went where the money was, Armstrong and Greb would fight Godzilla in Japan if they let them.

Ike Quartey was considered to be a big WW he was like 5'8 71 inch reach

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I haven't been in those threads, I only read the headlines. Sounds like he's trying to convince himself while Errol just sounds confident

Is it something to do with American sports culture - like, their main sports are all pretty much domestic affairs - or is it a financial issue, or something else?
It's because they don't own passports and think the world is still flat.....they are not the sharpest chisels in the tool box that's for :-)

Me too. For some reason people think he's got a big mouth now because he's saying he's going to win etc... this is how you build a fight and create interest. Some really boring miserable gits on here.

Spence had to work down to 147 but Spence been fighting smaller opponents so I'm saying Brook is not 1 of those small opponents Spence will be able to just railroad. Brook is also a big welterweight that is big enough to hold Spence like he like to do in fights and pot shot.

Let's not forget Porter is no small welterweight by far.. maybe a little short yes. but still Brook was able to basically manhandle him. Even Porter said himself he was a bit taken a back by Brook actual strength and size. I'd say that say's something coming from a thicker physical welterweight of Porter's size.
                  Totally agree.

It will be interesting to see how Spence deals with someone who he can't bully, and someone is a good counter puncher with nice timing. I rate him pretty highly but he hasn't really been tested or pushed back. Algieri came from 140, Bundu was 40+.

Brook will be the biggest and strongest he's fought, the way he outstrengthed Porter was impressive. I heard from Eddie Hearn and Dominic Ingle that Brook goes in somewhere between 165 and 168 by fight time so he's a handful at WW.

Can't wait for the fight, it'll tell us something about both guys and the winner has to fight Thurman V Garcia winner.

Nothing like hedging the bet, only Spence gets no credit , from you typical really.
