Kovalev beat the fighters that were put in front of him but leading up to the fight he has never faced any A class opponent as a pro ever, he beat a good line up of top contenders and B B+ level fighters but he's never been in there with any A level fighters and he lost to Boone. Good luck comparing him to the Corrales that Floyd fought and good luck trying to compare the 2 performances. Weight and size advantages should be mentioned too.

Well Corrales's three biggest wins, Castillo, Freitas and Casamayor came years after the Mayweather fight. Let's see what Kovalev does now. If he beat Stevenson and Beterbiev I'd make him Corrales's equal. To be honest Kovalev probably has a better case for beating Ward than Corrales does for beating Casamayor

Nice try with the rankings comparsion. Head to head Kovalev's opponents are no better than Corrales opponents. Try to make a case for it. I dare you.

Mayweather dominated Corrales. Ward-Kovalev was a very close fight.

Mayweather is much faster than Ward and speed is one of the most crucial skills in boxing. That's where the Caucasian in Ward's bloodline really holds him down. It limits his speed. White people are really slow.

NO he's not. Not even Ward believes that. Ward said himself that Kovalev is built up to be this scary monster when he really isn't. That's what the hype machine behind Kovalev has led you to believe. Kovalev does not have nearly the career resume that De La Hoya, Cotto, Mosley or Pacquiao had. And before you bring up their age, which most Floyd critics like to do, Kovalev is no spring chicken himself at 33 years old.

This is kinda racist lol but I've thought this too. Ward fights like a bigger, slower, clumsier version of Floyd. He isn't blessed with the fast twist muscle fibers that a lot of great African American fighters have had in the past. He has the mind of an elite level fighter but not the reflexes or quickness that many all time greats had.
