Canelo walked away from that Mayweather fight with $13 mil. Upside, downside, flat fee all comes down to one thing, how big is the cheque. The $15 mil cheque being offered is huge for a guy that makes 2-3 mil.

Just because other fighters in past allowed themselves to be screwed doesn't mean ggg should.

Clearly not a good enough offer, just like when Canelo held the WBC belt and was entitled to 70% of the money collected from the bout, he walked away. So I highly doubt the offer is anywhere comparable to that 30%. Besides that point, our opinion doesn't matter, clearly the offer wasn't good enough for him the fighter. When your promoter comes out and says "we made a flat fee offer take it or leave it" perhaps you should walk up to the mirror and look for unreasonable there.
