Oscar doesn't care for his boxers if their names are not CANELITA! Not only does he give them wars after wars, but if you guys were paying attention Vargas looked drained from the get go of the fight! How many fighters boxers or UFC warriors cans ay they had 2 straight fight of the years and don't get the well deserved rest? You guy want to know how much Vargas made for defending his championship belt on the main event on HBO? 70K, When you know HBO dished out 800K for the fight? Golden Girls are fu-ck-in-g the **** out of these poor guys!Comment

Who else
Is Vargas going to fight for his highest paydays and on HBO? The manager struck the best deal for Vargas: the biggest payday of his career and significant exposure on HBO. If he doesn't take these type of fights, he's not going to headline on TV. Obviously there's a risk/reward factor. I hope Vargas recovers and is smart with the $$$ he received. He worked hard to reach this point in life.Comment

And that is why these type of fighters end up with a short career. In a year or two Vargas will be another forgotten fighter struggling to get a decent paying fight. But in the eyes of the fans he's a warrior for slugging it out for the fans instead of adjusting his style to prolong his career.Comment

I agree with Chavez Sr. I know that it's unpopular but there's no reason why Vargas should have fought Berchelt next. After Miura and Salido he deserved a B- or C-plus fighter.
I'm not sure there's but a tougher 3 fights in a row as Vargas just took. This reminded me of Matthysee all over again even though Postol was for the vacant championship.
Linares fought and unknown fighter in his home country Vargas should have gotten a step up from that.
Promoters got to look out for fighters moreComment

Now I do agree with your point. For a former Olympian he puts himself in unnecessary situations when there's no reason for brawling constantly.
Vargas has solid boxing skills but like you said abandons them way more than he should.Comment
