Manny has turned into such a clown since dipping into politics. I use to like him but now I want to see him get his ass beat. He needs to STFU about this stuff as he wasn't exactly a model citizen growing up & earlier in his career. Stick to boxing & STFU about these topics...

I actually support the death penalty for big time smugglers and sellers/importers/growers of shabu, crack, heroine.
But from reports...I read Duterte is just pretty crazy. And they let masked guys on motorcycles hunt people down .
I support it if there's a trial, conviction of the people distributing drugs..or if the drug smuggler is shooting back..
I don't support the execution of users/addicts. People can go through rough times and make bad choices. Punish those who exploit the users for profit. But I read Duterte gives incentives for these masked men to kill people on their 'lists'. That is wrong and surely some of those executed were just small time users of drugs or were wrongly named on lists ...just for monetary gain.
Not sure if Pacquiao really understands this as a whole. Duterte seems too extreme.

The quote has to do with condemning someone to hell ... executing the traffickers and letting God decide where they should go (heaven or hell) is fully in line with the context of that quote.
Jesus knew the truth about human beings, which is that none of us are perfect, so none of us should judge and punish others unless we are ready to accept that same judgement and punishment ourselves.
People who call themselves Christians and advocate capital punishment should remember that Jesus stopped the execution of a woman who was about to be stoned to death by telling the would-be executioners, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

You left out the next line: "For in the way you judge, you will be judged"
There is nothing said against judging someone correctly, just don't do it hypocritically or falsely.
I CORINTHIANS 6:3: "Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?"
JOHN 7:24: "Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

There are numerous New Testament passages advocating capital punishment ... although not for the sin of adultery, which that woman was guilty of.Last edited by buge; 02-08-2017, 02:22 AM.
