I'd normally be ok with him holding out for a split, but I just don't see there being $15m in this fight even at 50-50. Maybe I'm wrong.

No matter which way you cut it - a flat fee offer is only going to benefit one side of the equation. Why should GGG allow himself to be clearly undercut, for the benefit of Canelo and Co?

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

How are GBP obligated to give K2 a fight? Nelo doesn't even have a 160 strap. When Alvarez vs Chavez Jr. hit the million PPV mark it clearly justifies which marquee names own PPV. The whole point of PPV is meritocracy. 15 million is a kind gesture for 97k, meaning those PPV buys with Canada's 2.8 million HBO subscribers. Lemieux made those numbers because Canadians were hoping for one of their own to beat this marketed Hulk.

As far as I know, wasn't GGG even getting some percentage of the PPV?

It's ok if Golovkin doesn'T want 15 million in 2017. Alvarez and Chavez Jr. will most likely produce a series. Great things to come in boxing.

Like I said, Gennady fans should be talking about 168. I think he has a chance at top 5 there, but that's just me. If the fans want him at 160 because they want him to beat Bhops record that's fine, but that doesn't mean Gennady can't be criticized. Dude is 35...

Salido was paid $250k for the first fight. Was he offered over $1 mil for a rematch? I doubt it.

This was towards the end of 2015, begining of 2016, if I remember correctly. They reached a deal for a 50/50 split of the total income from the fight, with the first $2million going to Stevenson.

Michel said it was a fair deal but it ended up being rejected by Stevenson/Haymon because Kovalev's HBO contract wouldn't allow a joint PPV screening on both HBO and Show Time.
I heard about the last paragraph.

Andre Ward? I think he was offered some 4M for a return against Kessler.

I cannot rmember how much he got for Froch in the s6 final though.

I doubt he got less than a 1 mil for the super 6 final.
