Dude will barely make the HOF despite being american.

Let's be real, without his gold medal, he wouldn't be named.

Kessler and Froch and a win over Kovalev regarded by most fans and journalists as a loss (so not a controversial "split" decision) is a razor thin legacy .

People sht on Calzaghe's legacy, but the welsh has wins over an undefeated Kessler, but also Eubank father and a SD over a still live Hopkins.

    Not worse huh?

I respect Ward skills and courage but dude has been vastly overrated, proof being how he was supposed to school the euro bum Kovalev.

At least Calslappy made a record of 21 defenses so he has a much more solid legacy than Ward (is that really debatable?).

And Calslappy is labeled as an overrated bum by Ward's fan...

Maybe he was always this way and I never took notice?

People want Ward to retire so they can mock his Kovalev scalp. None of them want him to rematch and toy with Kovalev so they have nothing to slag him off with.

Ward needs the Russian to be his cash out fight. There is no one left for him to fight. he just is not a big enough guy who can go up to grab that many fights past this weight limit... And he can't go back down. So this last fight would have to make financial sense to his backers and for him. Its a slightly more nuanced situation than the haters would imagine. He should trounce the Russian once again though and make the haters here cry some more tears.

At least Mayweather silenced his critics with a rematch with Castillo. This guy thinks if he retires he'll be remembered as a great because he has an 0. I do hope he retires, though, he's the most boring and pretentious boxer that has ever lived. Think Khan's delusion times a hundred and you're not even close to how deluded Ward is.

If he retires, I will almost guarantee at some point he will make a comeback. Might be a smart way to avoid rematch.
