Screw that guy." You were on the good end of a controversial decision, I along with an overwhelming amount of people had Kovalev winning but thats how fights like that go sometimes. The greats are anxious to remove all doubt, be great dont be a duck.
It's just not a good look, the first time you have a tough debatable victory and you're looking to exit the sport at the age of 33.
I'm a big supporter of Ward but this is a decision I can never rock with.

and the NEW LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD....................ANDREW SOG WARD...............AFTER EVERYONE SAID YOU WERE DUCKING THE FIRST FIGHT, NOW THEY SAY YOU ARE DUCKING THE SECOND HAHAHAHAHAHHAH
the rest of the world saw him lose and fight like a ***** the entire fight, failing to even tickle Kovalev and getting floored, outlanded and emasculated in return
He won via homecooking and it seems he wants to retire like a coward instead of giving Kovalev the rematch he deserves
A fitting end for Ward if he retires just to duck a fighter he knows he cant beat and got a lucky W against
Andre "Lennox" Ward

Not gonna read the 10+ pages because this thing was all controversy.
Not gonna lie, I really like Ward and I got him on a very high note, what he did is no joke, he beat the hell out of the 168 division, came back to dethrone a 3 belt unified 175 Killer.................being honest you gotta give Ward his props.
The problem is that his last fight was controversial. he can chose 2 roads.
1 Rematch Kovalev like Floyd did to Castillo and beat the hell out of him, shake all that controversy, he'll be remembered as a dude who beat them all and dominate them all.
2 Retire now, his legacy won't be tamished because he did great things but there will be that little thing that will etch his career forever. (Did he really beat Kovalev? or did he just receive a decision to beat Kovalev)

I hear ya but its Ward pride that is making the decision the dude is shallow as can be and this proves it because if he was really family first/family man he wouldnt let his pride get in the way jeopardizing his paydays, it wouldn't even be a thought. I would respect ward more as a man (in the grand scope of teh word) if he just avoided kovalev* and kept it moving and fought other dudes and kept that money coming in off other opponents he can beat. Fuck the criticism cause you gonna get that regardless but what the retirement talk is all about from ward is just to protect his pride.
*which he might actually be doing with this ploy, says he gonna retire wait till kovalev signs another fight and then come back and say hes back and sign to fight someone else and ride that out. Cause he has a legally binding contract that says he must rematch kovalev this might be his attempt to skirt that.
I see where you went wrong.
There will still be a ton of money to be made in the rematch.
