Here comes the retirement. I really thought he would sign right up for the rematch. Maybe he will change his mind. If he gets out now, he won't have much of a legacy, but maybe he wants to sit behind the mic. Nothing wrong with that, but make up your mind and let the Krusher get back to work.

Yes, he just never has been much fun, except for maybe the Dawson fight. That wasn't too bad, but the Kessler fight was atrocious.

Dawson had the life ****** out of him making 168 but he took the fight and got beat.

The kessler fight was horrible, jab, headbutt, hold all night and Jack Reiss must've been looking the other way.
Ward has perfected the art of a Dirty Boxing Style and it makes boxing look bad.

He knew the deal going into the Kovalev fight about the rematch clause, had Ward lost the fight (which I think he did) he would be screaming for a rematch.

Ive been thinking about this. The guy keeps talking about retiring, he probably should. He goes into a fight with a mad Kovalev who more than likely will be training like a mofo half hearted it will be over in a hurry. Although on the other hand this could be a ploy to milk more money out of the deal which is a ***** move.

Ward is a champion. He doesn't need a rematch to prove anything as he wasn't expected to win from jump. He overcame the odds and although a rematch would be nice, I wouldn't be mad at him fighting Stevenson or just moving on.

Judging by the attendance and PPV numbers for Ward's fights . Doubt many aside from hardcore boxing fans will notice Or miss him if he retires .

I think Ward does this second fight...and if he does not I will eat crow, but if you are Ward looking down the line...and assuming you can't make this fight for a ton of money, where do you go? Theres nobody for him at his level to fight. As said, he can't really go up anymore... It would kill him to go down to fight triple G... no promoter in their right mind takes a shave on this rematch. look at De La Hoya by comparison. When he was starting to get past it he had mosley, Quartey, Nando, mayorga, etc breathing down his neck... if he had wanted to he could have done big money fights up and down and all around!

Sure Ward could trim the herd, but those are not big money fights. I can't blame him for retiring and trying to get a cash out fight that matters. He is my favorite active fighter but i wouldn't promote him with Elroy's money!
