Matchroom Sports head Eddie Hearn would like to have Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs), but says at the moment Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs) is the likely option for Special K's next fight. There is a purse bid scheduled for February 7th. Brook will have to go forward with the fight or vacate the IBF welterweight title. With a 75-25 split in Brook's favor, there is little chance of the fight taking place in the United States.

I think Brook is going to be very depleted at 147. He had to cut a lot of weight to even make 160. This is not a safe weight for him, and probably hasn't been in a few years.

I think Spence crushes him at 147 because of this...and this isn't to diminish Spence. I think Spence is a monster but Brook needs to move up or he's going to ruin his body.

I don't think Hearn can treat this like he treated Chaves, Rios, Vargas, Alexander, etc. Those were not mandatories. We'll see what Haymon has to offer.
