Plus alot of people felt he lost, and realisticly ppl said he would kill Collazo (Hatton Fans) so you know ppl gotta get on him for struggling as they would for any other "elite fighter". If he's that good ppl feel like he shoulden't struggle and almost get knocked out in te championship round when he knew the fight was close. This isn't hate just holding him to the same standards as the other top fighter's.
A lot of the 'Hatton' fans you mention jumped on the Hatton bandwagon in the last year or so, all true Hatton fans new this fight would be tricky, he definitely won the fight but Collazo won most of his winning rounds in a big way so perhaps he has a moral victory.
It was a poor performance and Hatton admitted as much, the proof will be in the next couple of fights!

If Hatton doesn't give his promised rematch to Collazo, he's going to be hated by many fans who knows about this.
bro. hatton can shake on a rematch. but at the end of the day. the ppl that look after him. want him and themselves to get the largest pay days ever..

He lied by saying on HBO that he will rematch Collazo and later backed out of it. He did the same with Kostya. If he came to USA to earn respect and fans, it's a wrong approach to lie during the interview after the the only two televised fights in the USA. I'm not saying he must rematch, all I'm saying is that he talks the talk but never walks the walk. Respect is not earned this way.

Talk about a bunch of sore losers...
We've seen that fight..What the hell do we want to see it again for...
Only collazo nut hangers want to see it again in the hope that the next time they might win..
Well there are loads more interesting fights out there in my opinion...Cotto, Gatti , etc..good tear ups without the clash of styles..
It was an awkward fight for Hatton and I'm sure he would fight Collazo again if he needed to as
Hatton said he would fight anyone..But that doesn't mean he has to fight Collazo,
Screw him he lost get over it losers..
He wants and everyone else wants to see more interesting fights..instead of going back over old fights..

All in all...all this belly aching by some people on this site is getting ****ing boring...Get used to losing will ya and stop your ****ing crying..

But Im not calling hatton dishonest, lets not put him a pedestal though.
Sure he deserves to be slated for his performance, but he was well busted up and he didn't try to hide it. Even in the past when he was cut, he had completely dominated his opponent regardless. Against Collazo, he didn't dominate him and was maybe even lucky to get the unanimous decision. Therefore, most people in that position either don't appear at press conferences or if they do, they try to hide themselves and diminish the damage the other guy did by not showing the public. Hatton came out honestly on all fronts and gave Collazo his due. That shows balls.

true. They are looking for Hatton's safety. They know Collazo will spell disaster all the time.

i actually had hatton winning the fight by a round or 2..he dominated collazo the first 4 rounds and dropped him in the 1st which should have been a 10-8 round (for thouse of us who know boxing) and im not a hatton fan..he still is trash

MikyHatton - You are absolutely correct, Billy Graham stated a long time ago that he didnt think Collazo was the right fight for Ricky to show his style. But Ricky took it anyway, and he won a close fight, away from home in his first fight at 147 whilst giving one of the worst displays of his career. I dont understand why people are giving Ricky so much of a bashing I give Collazo a lot of props, he did a lot better than I thought he would and I dont think his stock has gone down whatsoever, in fact I think I lot more people know about him now and will give him more respect (although I am sure it stings to have lost the belt). From memory I also dont remember Ricky promising a rematch, I seem to remember him saying he would fight anyone and that included a possible rematch with Collazo - not a cast iron promise to do it next.
