    • 1 .- Alexander Povetkin (Russia)
      2 .- Bermane Stiverne (Haiti/Canada)
      3 .- Luis Ortiz (Cuba) * CBP/P
      4 .- Kubrat Pulev (Bulgaria)
5 .- Johann Duhaupas (France) SILVER
      6 .- Andy Ruiz (Mexico)
      7 .- Artur Szpilka (Poland)
      8 .- Carlos Takam (Cameroon)
      9 .- Dillian Whyte (Jamaica/GB) INTL/BBB C
      10 .- Gerald Washington (US)
      11 .- Mariusz Wach (Poland)
      12 .- Andrzej Wawrzyk (Poland) * CBP/P
      13 .- Jarrell Miller (US) * CBP/P
      14 .- David Price (GB) * CBP/P
      15 .- Andriy Rudenko (Ukraine) INTL Silver * CBP/P
Here is the recent WBC top 15... It has to be one of them...
Wilder has already beaten Stiverne, Duhaupas, Szpilka. Povetkin & Wawrzyk failed drug tests & Wach has also failed one so I doubt he is on the list. That leaves Ruiz (Who just lost a WBO title fight in December), Pulev, Takam, Whyte, Washington, Miller, Price & Rudenko. Which one will take this fight on 4 weeks notice? I would take any of those guys over Wawrzyk except Rudenko who I expect to be the opponent. I don't want the card cancelled because there are some good HW fights on it. Rudenko looks like the choice to me. Pulev is the best choice but he already turned down Joshua so who knows if he would take this fight on 4 weeks notice & for a smaller paycheck. Takam & Price are in camp for upcoming fights so they would be near peak shape. Both those fights would be interesting. Ruiz & Whyte are both coming off tough fights in December so would they be ready & willing? Would either be offered the fight? Miller is a wild card because nobody knows how good he really is. He totally overwhelmed Fred Kassi who gave many other HW's a tough go so he looks like a dangerous guy. I think it will be Washington or Rudenko but I'm thinking Rudenko has absolutely nothing to lose & no chance of ever beating most of the guys ahead of him so he makes the most sense if I was Wilder's team. I would like to see Pulev but I doubt the money will be right.

Wilder didn't try and step up in comp - he was forced to face his mandatory (Povetkin). Would b nice if he really would "step up" his comp with all these bs "voluntary" title defenses, but he chooses to avoid the top 10 and fight cans!!

        • Again, the hate in these comments. I just don't get all the hate. He was supposed to fight Povetkin twice and two times Povetkin popped positive twice. He was scheduled to fight this guy and he pops positive. Wilder didn't do any of that....they did.

Do I think Wilder is fighting the best out there in the division? No. Did he try to fight Povetkin? Yes. He shouldn't be shat on for the positive tests. I think he will fight Joseph Parker this year, and while I don't think he's all that good, he is a belt holder. I'm not a big fan of Wilder (nor do I dislike him), I will just wait and see. The truth of him will come out eventually...

HW in the world at the time Alexander Pedvetkin!!! nevermind the fact that Bermaine Stiverne was a legitamet champion and at the top of the ranking when Wilder beat him! nevermind that Malik Scott was ranked #10! nevermind that Molina went on to challenge for the IBF vs. Joshua!!! nevermind that Duhuapas went onto break the top ten after Wilder knocked him out! HA!!! FOH with your ignorance! learn about the sport before coming at me.
What's lost on muppets like yourself is the fact Joseph Parker is a 24 year old with a fraction of the fights. Joshua is 26 about to fight Klitschko with less fights. Wilder has fought nobody and probably the softest reign of all time. Wouldn't be suprised if he fights Jason Gavern for the replacement

              • Rod Salka been bulking up in the gym, word is he's getting the shot. Not confirmed though as they're also considering a Zelenoff rematch. I just hope the rumours of Sam Peter getting it aren't true.

                • you "test" a previous injury in the gym - hitting the heavy bag/sparring. u dont say ur "testing" it during a hw title defense! just an excuse to fight another tomato can in front of his hometown once again in a college arena.....another easy paycheck for cherry-picking Wilder. absolutely pathetic two year title reign!!!
I agree that a tune up shouldn't be a title defense however you can't truly duplicate the stress of a real fight through sparring or hitting a bag.....

Ell Gallo Negro is the obvious choice. PBC fighter, fight can be made in a day, he's been looking for an opportunity, this might be it

It can't be Peter. It has to be someone in the top 15 if I haven't mistaken. Peter isn't even in their top 40 rankings. The January rankings have not been put out yet so we will see soon. Dillian Whyte moved up to the top 2 I think with his eliminator win over Chisora. The new rankings should be out soon.Washington or Rudenko are who I think are the front runners. Povetkin & Wawrzyk will probably be out of the rankings so a couple other names could move up. David Price might be a guy who could get the fight too. That chin could be a reason they pick him & he has been in camp for weeks training for the Hammer fight. That could be interesting. Price may never get another chance if he is offered this fight & declines.
