Now that he's being trained by Emanuel Steward it will probably get worse, unfortunately. Taylor is the typical tall, athletic, fast and strong boxer that Steward has often trained over the years (Gerald McLellan, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, Thomas Hearns, Milt McCrory, Hilmer Kenty being others off the top of my head), and from what I remember, in every case except McLellan he trained those men to tie up inside rather than cover up or trade. McLellan was a crushing puncher, so there was no reason for him to avoid infighting. Hearns was a real warrior and hated holding, but it cost him against Barkley, Hagler and Leonard (1st fight). Maybe Steward learned to teach guys the "fine art" of clinching partially because of the debacles of Hearns.

In any case, Winky Wright is basically a boxer, quite content to trade jabs from the outside. He can stalk his opponents too but it's not usually his 1st choice strategically. Because of how their styles match up I think that Taylor can win the outside battle of jabs and straight right hands. Taylor's younger, taller, at least as fast and strong enough to keep Wright off of him for most of the fight. Wright's defence is excellent though and should keep him in the fight all the way.

If Taylor is to be beaten it will most likely be by a strong, young and quick pressure fighter, maybe somebody like Arthur Abraham. [It's possible that Edison Miranda has what it takes to beat Taylor too but his balance problems make me uncomfortable]. However, the referee is likely to have some influence on how such a fight goes. If a referee is chosen that tolerates a lot of holding on the inside, Taylor could still win a frustrating and boring battle against a guy like Abraham, with 10-15 clinches per round all broken up by an overworked referee. We will have to wait and see. First let's see what happens with Wright-Taylor. I have to hold my nose and go with Taylor by unanimous decision.

i forgot he got steward, he's a good trainer but he gets too much credit, he didn't improve hamed for ****, and klitchko now finally has confidence that he didn't have before this was with steward at his side.

i think in taylors last fight he improved his over-hand right and in my opinon its a very important punch for taylor because this punch holds a lot of power, no way in hell would steward be that ******, i mean AMATURISH, to remove taylors over-hand right. taylors old trainer the white guy, i hope he is the one in the corner giving taylor instructions cause that guys give great advice.

and i don't know if anybody sees it, but steward is starting to sound a lot like teddy atlas or worse.

People always see things differently and in this case there are just more people who believe Taylor would win over Winky. It's that simple.

Over/Under rated? It's just the reflection of the number of people who gives credit and respect to the fighter's accomplishments and fighting capabilities, and obviously Taylor gets more.Forget about the crap arguement of Taylor being over rated and Winky being under rated. They'll have their chance to prove who is better once they meet inside the ring.

Hopkins spent most of his time running, not fighting. It is never easy to look good in a steeplechase. Nevertheless, Wright hasn't looked any better in his last two fights, so it should be a good match. At first I thought Taylor would beat Wright easily, that is until Manny Steward show up. Having Steward in Taylor's corner should make things a bit easier for Wright.

I am rooting for Winky, even though in my opinion taylor is gonna be a tougher test for Wright that Tito.
