Why is everyone on Jermain Taylors nuts?

What has he done so convincingly to warrant this hype around him? Yea he beat a legend in hopkins, but the man is 40 years old. What gets me is that he didn't do it convincingly. Nothing he has impressed me at all. Overated, and will be exposed vs Winky (most underated boxer ever) Discuss.

    Most critical question asked lately.

In my opinion....he's a basketball player in boxing trunks.

2xRobbery Hopkins, lol Joppy, and a 90 year old Raul Marquez.

        He's still underrated.

Before he fought Tito everyone on here was claiming he wouldn't go 3 rounds and the fight would be ugly. The only people I even remember picking him to win that fight were Me, JacktheRippuh, and Kimmy.

Even after shutting that juggernaut out, people still think he's going to get his ass handed to him.

I think he's going to put on the same kind of performance against Taylor....that he did Trinidad.

Thank you. No one gives Winky a chance. He comes to fight, will duck no one and is guarenteed to come in top shape. The dudes jab is always in your face and I really bealive Winky is on top of his game right now. His defensive style fits him perfectly, I mean look how long is arms are. It covers his head to body. He will expose Taylors flaws.

Taylor has never impressed me. Always looks tentative, and when Hopkins caught him with that straight his ass almost hit the floor.

he is overrated a bit. Beating Trinidad who wasn't a P4P fighter doesn't warrant a #2 spot on the list.

If he beats Jermain, I'll give him his props.

See, Trinidad is not a chump fighter. Yea he has flaws, but Trinidad did not touch winky. Winky stuck that jab in his face all night and there wasn't a damn thing he could do.

tell me you're joking? I see taylor as a bigger version of vargas and vargas fought winky on his off night with both legal and family problems and still pulled off the win.

taylor also may have more power then vargas and he has a jab and a strong over-hand right. taylor is smart enough to know that if winky wants to jab, then taylor will jab with him and take his jab.

i think taylor is a bit of a counter puncher and doesn't mind leading or countering a figher, he can be pattient when he wants to and making this fight easier will be winky coming straight at him, lol, and to top it off, jermain taylor has in my opinion one of the best corner people in the bussniess, taylors trainer gives great advice to taylor and taylor listens, every which way i look at this fight i still end up with taylor beating winky, and this ain't only because i dislike winky but all you have to do is look at winkys resume and how he fought those fighters and where those fightes were in their career.

I feel that Jermain deserves a ton of respect. True, he didn't look great against Hopkins, but who has? Hopkins' style is designed to make anyone look amateurish. Taylor showed a great deal of heart by hanging in there against a guy who is very hard to fight. Just because he didn't blow away Hopkins doesn't mean he's not a good fighter. His experience against Hopkins will help him when he fights Winky, as Winky is a very difficult guy to figure out also. Taylor couldn't have gotten better experience for a Winky Wright fight than 2 fights with Bernard Hopkins.
