Also an interesting take from Alex Ariza on Pacquiao...says that Arum is a scumbag (we knew that already), and that Freddie Roach has really limited & hindered Pacquiao (I know he has an axe to grind, but dude makes some pretty interesting points)

I agree, I remember Roach not doing too good in one of Cotto's last camps. He was breathing heavy during breaks. But I think training is what's keeping Roach going.

You can tell from all the past videos that Ariza misses working with Manny. Whether he truly misses working with him or just misses the checks is besides the point, but you can tell he wishes he was still a part of that camp.

On a side note, Ariza looks like a child ******er in that video. Has that Uncle Creepy look.

Well there's no doubt that he's salty, but I'm talking about the part where he talks about working the mitts with a 60 year old who is already limited physically to begin with...that's kind of a valid point, no?

I greatly respect Robert & think Abel is f#cking clown shoes, but I mean they are trainers & don't necessarily know the business of boxing as deeply as the promoters & networks as far as knowing a fighters value as his career goes into that retirement slide. And I imagine neither got much of a clue about the business of Manny. So wtf do they really know about the incoming money & current appeal of Manny?

And not to say that they are wrong in their take cuz they could be right, but based on the current math I'm seeing with Manny's PPV appeal & this next one not even being a PPV fight it appears, I just don't see how a promoter can be throwing $20M for a HBO or HBO caliber fight or a PPV that'll do 300k-ish give or take. $20M/Gtd paydays should be for the guys commanding 1M+ PPV fights on the regular or for fights that are virtually guaranteed of reaching that number.

Manny should demand 20 mil and get it. Manny probably lost hundreds of millions dealing with Bob but he was loyal. If Bob wants to build his next superstar off the back of Manny he should really get 40 million.

Ariza likes to think of himself as a very important person in boxing but he isn't. He is just a strength and conditioning coach. He has never boxed and has no real boxing knowledge. He has been fired by almost every boxer or trainer he ever worked for. His opinion is clouded with his grudge against Roach. Garcia and Sanchez are important boxing people and know what they are talking about.
