The Monaghan fight would involve having to work with Bob Arum, a man who was a punk dealing with being the B-Side of a fight that got his company $100m.

Joe Smith is on the cusp of being a breakout star, the venue being discussed is firmly in Star Boxing's home market.

Star Boxing will hear all the available offers, and then they will stage the biggest fight that they can for Joe Smith Jr, likely with aims of getting him closer to an actual world title shot (if HBO is unwilling to air the fight, there's no doubt in my mind that Showtime or PBC will gladly air the event).

I like this fight for Joe. He deserves a title shot. I had zero interest in that Seanie fight people have been talking about & the reality is that fight is still out there for both guys after this fight anyway.

On a more personal level I'm 0-2 on picking Joe Smith fights & I hope I'm 0-3 after this fight cuz I think Stevenson is gonna end the upset train.

Honestly I got a ton more trust for Arum doing right by Joe than Star Boxing doing right by Joe. Star are the f#ckheads who are actively screwing over Aligieri & probably are screwing over Smith & Andrade & whoever else is signed with them.

I'll be rooting for Bazooka Joe to knock Superman out cold!

His right hand is dynamite and he's much better than i previouslythought!

In the Hopkins fight he showed patience, when it got a little tough he didn't get frustrated, and picked his shots really well!

I think he'll have a similar gameplan as his Fonfara fight where he played possum until he caught him with a counter hook when he opened himself up!

That said, Adonis has fast hands, that nuclear left, decent body work, sharp right uppercut, crazy long reach, and different set ups on how he lands his big punch!

Really tough fight for Joe but he has the power to end the fight at anytime as well!

            Hope it happens!!

I'd like this...Joe could pull off another upset here.

Stevenson will probably lay out Smith but Smith will bring it and you can't say he didn't earn his big shot.

Star Boxing was able to build Chris Algieri up to the point that he was able get 5 good paydays (after the run of shows at the Paramount, where no one really made money); splitting those paydays 50/50, though tough, was likely fair enough for the situation, tbh.

Star Boxing got Joe Smith Jr the Will Rosinsky fight (Lou DiBella had Rosinsky), which they were then able to flip to the Fonfara fight (Lou DiBella's in with Haymon helped make that fight), which they were able to then flip into the Hopkins fight (a big KO win on national TV, by a sellable guy with a working class story).

Joe Smith Jr is in line for a really big fight, he owes nothing to anyone but Star Boxing, and Star Boxing has open doors with HBO, Showtime, and PBC.

Arum has two fights that he can offer, is still persona non grata with Showtime and PBC, and doesn't really hold all that much sway with HBO any longer either.

Smith Jr may have to split those first few big paydays 50/50 with Star Boxing, but that's the cost of all the breaks it took to get to said paydays, imo.

Note: Andrade is with Banner Promotions, with Star Boxing as a co-promoter. Who has Banner brought through, beyond Ruslan Provodnikov?
