Adonis Stevenson vs. Joe Smith Jr. on April 29? In negotiations...

...to take place at the renovated Nassau Coliseum per Fat Dan.
    http://www.espn.com/blog/dan-rafael/...oxing-business

On April 29, boxing will make its return to the arena for the first time in 31 years. It previously hosted fights involving a young Mike Tyson, Gerry Cooney and its most famous fight, George Foreman’s fifth-round destruction of Joe Frazier in their 1976 rematch.

There is no set main event yet for April 29, but there is a good chance that light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson (28-1, 23 KOs) will defend the title against Joe Smith Jr. (23-1, 19 KOs), the Long Island union laborer by day who scored two huge upsets in 2016 with knockouts of Bernard Hopkins and Andrzej Fonfara. The camps are negotiating the fight.

Joe smith keeps getting underestimated and knocking fools out. This will not be a easy fight for Stevenson and I won't be shocked if he's laid out next.

Joe Smith is no better than Thomas Williams Jr.

I would love to see Joe Smith jr knock Stevenson out, but I doubt that will happen. I would argue that unless he's being offered crazy money, hasn't Smith Jr earned himself a homecoming fight vs Seanie Monahan or some other lighter touch? I guess it depends on the money he's making...

Interesting fight but Stevenson isn't Fonfara nor is he a senior citizen. We will see what Joe is made of in this one.

I used to like Smith Jr. until he sold himself to HBO or Haymon traded him like some baseball cards. From now on it'S not the ''Irish BOmber'' it's ''Trader Joe!''

I guess I'm the only one who likes this fight, you never know Joe blow could be the real deal.
I wouldn't bet money on it but I will look forward to watching it.
