This kid isn't ready for Loma. When Loma was his age he was beating up teenagers in the amateurs. Let the kids grow into a real champ.

Davis is very young though. Just hope he doesn't go the Gary Russell Jr route of rarely fighting and stepping down in competition. If he does that he's not going to get better than what he is now.
Well, he IS a champion now, so the competition can only be SO bad, surely?

But I do agree with Floyd mainly about the fact that there's no rush to throw him in there with guys like Lomachenko, whom are on the P4P list.

Yes, Tank is champion now, but he's only 22. Let him settle in as a professional- and now, as a champion... find his groove in the next couple years. Then once he builds that foundation, actively seek those legacy fights. Besides, its not like he's the perfect fighter already and cannot improve. He tends to get inactive at times, because he loads up on so many punches sometimes and punches himself out. Also, once he starts to not load up so much and set his punches up more consistently with smarter work, he'd be a more complete fighter also.

Still, I just hope the competition to that point isn't TOO bad, like Gary Russel Jr bad. Everybody already knows that's not the route to go, so as long as his voluntary title defenses help him improve, it should be peachy. Plus, he's gonna have a mandatory defense against Liam Walsh soon, I'm sure.

Salido, russel, Walters, roman martinez or a paper champ jose and a bunch of bums. Competition between these 2 guys ain't even close. And I don't care what weight tank gets embarrassed by loma and he will not be as effective going up in weight then he is at 130. He gets hit too much jose is not very good and was lighting him up landed over 110 punches on him and was busting his face up. What will guys like Linares or Mikey do to this kid at 135 if they land that many punches? Both are more skilled, faster hands and much more power
