Boxing isn't going to die, but it isn't going to be mainstream in the United States for a long time, if ever. I'm ok with that reality, but I would like to see some reasonable growth.

At least I can respect guys who support fighters I don't even if we don't agree, but this dude's like some miserable drunk who sits in the corner of the pub trying to make himself feel significant by spouting hate filled rants about anything that crosses his addled mind.

You do realise that Golovkin and Paquiao are two different people, yeah?

You have to wonder how many of these 50 yr old posters acting like 6 yr old kids whining, crying, expressing butt hurt. Mods need to ban these posters. We need forward looking ones, not these ******, moronic kids who bump their own threads dying for attention.

Boxing is a cultural past time, which gave the ability of all men whether they where black, white or indifferent to alleviate their social status and pride! which in this competitive world, seems to still matter to us men! (That's why its a man's world) Of course now with education being available to most people in the western world, and looking at how the industrial revolution has created more jobs for the machine within the western world! good old fashioned prize fighting is just now a echo of a time in history! when the only opportunity for allot of people was to literally fight! that's why boxing was such a massive sport.

(The landscape has change, and that is why boxing is not as big anymore)....

Boxing is not dead, but i feel like its a out of place artifact! It will always exist in some form or another though....

Boxing will NEVER DIE BUT the IDIOTS in Charge of boxing as well as Mainstream Boxing Media are hurting the sport more than they help it with their Division and Negativity which makes Casuals become Negative Towards the sport as well.

Need more weekends like we had this pass Weekends. Stacked Cards and The Best Fighting The Best as well as young guys stepping up and taking chances that the general public think they're not ready for.

Its not illogical, people don't really have the same pressures to fight anymore! i am looking at this thread from a social political perspective. Boxing used to be arguable the worlds biggest sport, and this was because it was a cultural past-time, and one of the few ways men could earn a luxurious living (Its not the same anymore in the western world). Times have change, and the sport now is kind of a out of place artifact.......

Boxing is not dying, the landscape in which it exist has just changed. The industrial revolution, and free education has changed allot of things! plus the rise of other less brutal sports.

its dying bro. Viewing figures are atrocious. It used to be the biggest sport in the world and now its a niche sport. Boxing is never going to stop running (which would be the definition of it being dead), but i think the sport is pretty much at its lowest point and its in a sorry state. Cant blame it on sociopolitical factors, the ufc seem to be doing okay with mcgregor. An event like ward v kovalev should have been gigantic, should have been something that all sports fans were talking about and dying to watch.

What am I missing? It's not dying? PBC getting an average of 300-600K per card on free tv is not what you call dying? They will need to put some of their cards on Olympic closing ceremonies to get 4-5M like Bundu vs Spence.

If you've seen recent spike in attendance or improvement in matchmaking, then you need to thank people who keep bringing attention to the dying sport. If fans are all like you saying yes to every Foreman vs Lara types, then it will die.

                      Hope that helps.
