Is Mayweather Punch Drunk Or Just Really Dumb?

When he's not giving interviews he sounds totally different, he speaks the same way he spoke 10 years ago, sometimes he speaks too fast u don't even eunderstand him. When he's giving interviews though he's always thinking because everything he says gets a headline made out of it so I think that's why he tries to be selective and tries to take his time, speech has never been his greatest asset at any time of his career, he was at his best when he didn't care and said whatever he wanted to say, but he can't do that anymore.

I'm trying to tell folks it's like politicians speaking (where every word has to be accounted for in real time) but they aren't listening because they hate Floyd.

Floyd is far from dumb he made it further and made more than anyone else and that takes an enormous amount of deep seated quality's in many areas , he just happens to be not very good at getting his thoughts into words when in front of a camera and on the spot, I know some real smart people that are not very good with words, until you have actually given interviews in front of camera most people dont realize how hard it is.

Lucky for him he was great fighter he never would make it behind a microphone.

Keep in mind I"m mostly a fan of Mayweather and I've watched him speak over the years, he was never a bright bulb, but recently after he's retired it seems like his speech capabilities have disintegrated even further. Watching a few recent interviews such as this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nweYVErLrbo he's just more and more hesitant and appears to be able to only speak a word at a time.

Has he really taken that much punishment to his brain to have permanent brain damage or is he simply not that smart?

Well he's only been hit like 12 times his entire career, so he's not punch drunk!

I'll let u guys debate the other....but regardless, dude is a genius in the ring.

Mayweather may not be articulate but that doesn't mean he's not intelligent. You don't make 100s of millions and being one of the biggest PPV draws boxing has ever seen without being smart. This thread reeks of prejudice.

I believe you have to give the credit to Al Haymon he was the brains behind him. When Floyd was asked who he's fighting or what are his plans he would always say I have to get with my adviser Al Haymon. It's hey Dummy your going to fight this guy next, or you will wait 5 years to fight Pac. Don't worry I'll make you a lot of money that's what went down. Without Al Haymon he would have never got that rich. Al Haymon also had an influence with the judges so without him I think they would have never gave him that Delahoya win

True people here on this website think here just because you can box like a genius it makes you one. if that was the case Einstein would have been the best boxer ever or all Doctors and Engineers would be World Champs
