Link one credible article that states that. Canelo is the biggest cash cow and he is, I don't deny it. But somehow you want people to believe that this cash cow would have to surrender his bargaining chips as the A side in all of boxing to GGG and because he couldn't, that's why he vacated? Come on bro, I'm sure you know that's a little bitty mentirita you're trying to sell as a shi+ torta right?
This has nothing nothing to do with his resume at 26 years old. It's what he's doing at this very moment, vacating titles to not defend against GGG, Andrade or the Charlos at 154. Thats not daring to be great bro, that's laughable and the entire Mexican community agrees. If you're argument was legitimate then Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. is still the biggest Live gate draw today with 132,000 plus on attendance, Roy Jones Jr is still the greatest Pound for Pound on the planet and Floyd Mayweather is still the ultimate cash cow in all of combat sports combined. Doesn't that sound ******ed? Of course it does because neither are that anymore at this very moment, right now today.
For the record, Texas has the biggest contingent of Mexican boxing fans anywhere in the US. When Chavez fought Sweetpea here in San Antonio there were over 58,000 in attendance. When I was at the Pacquiao/Margarito fight there were 42,000 in attendance. When I went to the Pacquiao/Clottey fight, there were 50,000 in attendance. Guess who made up the crowd? 3/4 of the fans were Mexican cheering a Filipino against a Ghanaian. So you're wrong, it has less to do with Canelo and everything to do with how big of a Mexican boxing contingent there is in Texas. Go attend a Dallas Cowboys game on any season and you won't see anywhere a big of a Mexican crowd than in Texas.
Canelo hasn't lost prestige you say? Well let's take a look at that statement for a second. Canelo/Cotto did 900K buys, Canelo/Khan between 500-600K buys, Canelo/Smith barely hit 350K buys. Notice a trend since climbing the ring stating "Me subiría a pelear ahorita mismo, como decimos en México ¡Hay que dejarnos de mamadas! Los cinturones aquí y se hacen a un lado. En este deporte no se viene a jugar y no le tengo miedo a nadie” only to vacate like no other Mexican champion had before?
Chavez no doubt will pull way more fans in to help Canelo's diminishing PPV numbers and the world will turn even more on Canelo if he loses to Chavez. .

Its funny how you seem to believe Canelo who fights for a living and done it since he was 15 yrs old as a pro would be scared to fight another man. Boxing is a business 1st and foremost if it was about glory then Lil G would of fought Ward along time ago or Adonis would of fought Kovalev by now. Shoot, look @ lil G right know he's being offered 15 mil to fight Canelo on Sep. that's 3x the money he has ever made in one fight but he keeps asking for 40% split. Why does lil G who only PPV did 97k deserve 40% Canelo is the cash cow he brings in the fans but no you won't call that a duck just a business move right?
WTF? You say is not about the resume is about who he fights now? Alright then, you named 3 fighters Lil G, Charlo, Andrande let's take a look at their last 3 opponents:
Lil G: Monroe, Wade, Brooks
Andrande: Rose, Pucheta, Nelson
Charlo: Camfort, Trout, Williams
I guess those guys you just mention aren't really that great seeing how their recent opposition are at best B level talents.
Again, you talking about Canelo losing prestige even though he brought in 52,000 Mexicans in his last fight against a complete unknown. Your argument doesn't make sense no other fighter is doing that. Not just that you wanna rip on his PPV numbers name one other fighter that's brings in 300,000 buys now days besides PacMan you can't. Nelo has the Mexican people behind him. the Smith fight brought in 18 mil viewers in Mexico. Yet, according to you la raza is ashamed of him, lol. Let's see how many people Cotto brings in for his fight at the Cowboys training facility, if you're argument is true all the Mexicans will come out to support a fellow Latino... like you said the Chavez fight will bring in a lot more PPV meaning your trend will be wrong b/c Canelo buys will be going up not down.
I have been to Canelo's last 5 fights Lara @ the MGM Grand, Kirkland @ Minute Maid Park, Cotto @ Mandalay Bay, Khan @ T-Mobile Arena and Smith @ Cowboys Stadium let me say this Canelo fans have been growing not shrinking like you said don't confuse him to Chavez Jr. Who real Mexicans see as a disgrace...Last edited by Eastlos; 01-14-2017, 11:00 AM.

This fight is going to be Margarita/Cotto 1 & Salido/Juanma all over again with the bigger man slowly walking down/breaking down the smaller man until he caves in and can't continue. Chavez Jr. is going to shock the boxing world.
