How does vacating a belt that he won in a proud and epic Mexico vs. Puerto Rico rivalry for fear of getting KTFO by GGG and demanding a catch weight of 164.5 against Chavez who doesn't have a belt make Canelo "daring to be great?" Don't know if you've caught on but Barrera, Marquez, Zurdo Ramirez, Nacho Beraistan, Mauricio Sulaiman and anyone and everyone in Mexican boxing circles has been criticizing Canelo, not just the Chavez.

There's one thing to claim the Chavez hate their own and another to call out Canelo for actions unbecoming of proud Mexican champions. Remember it was Canelo who went on record to say "Mexicans are the worst sports fans around". Google it for yourself, he gave an interview with Morning News USA all because of the scrutiny his own fans have been rightfully giving him. He's turning more on his people than what you claim the Chavez family have. Canelo holds far less prestige than you think he holds. Dont be surprised when more raza support Chavez come fight night. He may be a daddy's little brat but his balls are well put compared to Canelo.

I understand your East LA affiliation for Oscar but him and Canelo aren't cut from the same cloth. He fought everyone and would never vacate a title for fear of fighting another man, something Canelo proudly did without second thoughts. Oscar may dictate who he fights but Canelo alone made the decision to bring GGG on the ring only to vacate.

Chavez Jr is funny. Bro fans have lessened there support by fight based on how you don't respect the sport.

Chavez Jr hasn't developed his skills over time, he's shown to not be dedicated to the sport by constantly missing weight. The Martinez fight he didn't care for.

Outside of physically being bigger Chavez Jr doesn't have a single boxing skills better than Canelo. He better bring his A Game before Canelo adds him to his knockout reel.

C'mon compa, Canelo vacated the WBC title b/c Lil G thought he would force Canelo into that 55-45 split when anyone that knows anything will tell you he didn't deserve anywhere close to that. Canelo doesn't need a belt the kid @ 26 yrs old has 3 HOF's on his record is a multi division champion and beat the likes of Lara n Trout. If you don't believe that's daring to be great then name me 1 other fighter 26 or younger right now with a better resume?

Also, why is it wrong for Canelo who has never fought over 155 lbs in his career wrong to have Chavez Jr. drop 3lbs from his last fight weight in? I mean Canelo going up 10.5 lbs he's never fought at that weight before for this fight to happen concencions need it to be made. You claim Canelo has lost prestige around his people but I can assure you that when I was @ Cowboys stadium this past sep. for his last fight with Smith there where 52,000 raza deep of fans cheering him on and showing nothing but love to him. Funny how you bring up Mexican greats like Barrera n Marquez who Canelo already surpass in popularity not just in the US but Mexico too. Trust me Canelo wouldn't be a PPV star if his people didn't support him. No matter how you cut it Canelo has fought guys people didn't think he should and has surrender the bigger piece of the pie to get them big fights something other fighters like Lil G have refuse to do. I'm a proud Mexican American and will ride n die with both Canelo n Oscar two great champs.

No they are not with jr. And time after time people try to use this website as a barometer for real world shht. All I heard was Mexicans turned on canelo watch nobody will show up for his next fight. Goes on to draw over 50,000 sets the Cowboys stadium record, draws more fans in attendance then Manny Pacquiao did in that same stadium at his prime and did all this against a pure unknown fighter who has never fought on US soil before. Just because a hand full of trolls and there dozen alt accounts cry about something day after day don't mean shyt.

Jr is saying Mexicans are with him is a joke, the last relevant fight he had Mexicans started a riot after he quit on his stool and we're rushing the ring throwing beers at him. On fight night the crowd will be on canelo side and it won't be close. Jr always been jealous of canelo who passed him long ago in Mexican support.

I understand where your loyalty lies. I'm also from L.A, born in east L.A for that matter.
But let's not forget that Chavez SR was way past his prime when Oscar beat him.
I'm a big fan of Oscar, Canelo, and Chavez SR but if Chavez SR had been in his prime when he fought Oscar then who knows what would of happened... but one thing I'm positive of, Chavez would not have quit on his stool.

I'm with Chavez Jr on this one but I'm sure if even Chavez gives Canelo the fight of his life, he'll still get robbed.

The only way to beat Canelo is knock him out. Every fight that goes to the cards against Canelo is instant robbery = defeat.

I'm with Jr. Long shot for him to win but I would love if Kid Chavez pulled off the upset in his biggest fight.

But i do want to see GGG-Canelo so i'm torn...

1 canelo will have a hard time getting in an out... 2 if chavez uses his length which he SHOULD. He should ****in win. 3 canelo cant fight on the back foot with a bigger fighter. He cant stick and move he has to be planted when landing...Hes also not fast like a pacquiao who moved up and was primarily successfull because the footwork and angles.... This dude needs memo, Freddie and Ariza and he will win. Trust me

Never ever has Canelo or Golden Boy gone on record to say GGG wanted a 55/45 split so they preferred to vacate, ever. You're reaching and you know it. Link one credible article that states that. Canelo is the biggest cash cow and he is, I don't deny it. But somehow you want people to believe that this cash cow would have to surrender his bargaining chips as the A side in all of boxing to GGG and because he couldn't, that's why he vacated? Come on bro, I'm sure you know that's a little bitty mentirita you're trying to sell as a shi+ torta right?

This has nothing nothing to do with his resume at 26 years old. It's what he's doing at this very moment, vacating titles to not defend against GGG, Andrade or the Charlos at 154. Thats not daring to be great bro, that's laughable and the entire Mexican community agrees. If you're argument was legitimate then Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. is still the biggest Live gate draw today with 132,000 plus on attendance, Roy Jones Jr is still the greatest Pound for Pound on the planet and Floyd Mayweather is still the ultimate cash cow in all of combat sports combined. Doesn't that sound ******ed? Of course it does because neither are that anymore at this very moment, right now today.

For the record, Texas has the biggest contingent of Mexican boxing fans anywhere in the US. When Chavez fought Sweetpea here in San Antonio there were over 58,000 in attendance. When I was at the Pacquiao/Margarito fight there were 42,000 in attendance. When I went to the Pacquiao/Clottey fight, there were 50,000 in attendance. Guess who made up the crowd? 3/4 of the fans were Mexican cheering a Filipino against a Ghanaian. So you're wrong, it has less to do with Canelo and everything to do with how big of a Mexican boxing contingent there is in Texas. Go attend a Dallas Cowboys game on any season and you won't see anywhere a big of a Mexican crowd than in Texas.

Canelo hasn't lost prestige you say? Well let's take a look at that statement for a second. Canelo/Cotto did 900K buys, Canelo/Khan between 500-600K buys, Canelo/Smith barely hit 350K buys. Notice a trend since climbing the ring stating "Me subiría a pelear ahorita mismo, como decimos en México ¡Hay que dejarnos de mamadas! Los cinturones aquí y se hacen a un lado. En este deporte no se viene a jugar y no le tengo miedo a nadie” only to vacate like no other Mexican champion had before?

Chavez no doubt will pull way more fans in to help Canelo's diminishing PPV numbers and the world will turn even more on Canelo if he loses to Chavez. .
