We could be seing a mini-tournament (sans PBF) with Gatti/Baldo winner vs. Cotto and Castillo/Corrales winner vs. Hatton. It would be a hell of a tournament, winner gets PBF.

edit: This tournament wouldn't all be at welter, Gatti surely won't want to make 140 anymore and Castillo/Corrales surely can't make it to 147 effectively...

Obviously the huge problem there is PBF is forced to wait on the sidelines...UNLESS he can win the DLH sweepstakes.
Your dead wrong here. Cotto can not make 140lbs enough times to finish a tournament. If he doesn't get the Castillo or Corrales fight directly after his Paulie fight then he will move up to 147lbs.

I said earlier it was a controversial fight but more importantly it was an exciting fight, therefore I think its worthy of a rematch. A better question might be is a rematch the best business decision for Hatton? In the business sense I think that it is doubtful and non-advantageous for Hatton to fight Collazo again.

Here are issues for a rematch:

    Hatton:
-Hatton will be stronger and better conditioned for rematch due to experience with the weight and being more comfortable at 147lbs

-If the fight does happen it will definitely happen at the MEN in Manchester and Hatton will be given more linency with his style.

    Collazo:
-Will be more confident for second fight and wont be as shocked and cold as he was in first fight, didnt decide till the 4th round that boxing and not planting in front of Hatton was good.

Either way, I dont think this loss hurt Collazo's career. I think that it increases his profile and future earning potential. So yeah he might've gotten the short end of a close decision but he wasn't robbed.

If Hatton want's to prove that he's the real deal and that the Collazo fight was close cause he wasn't use to the weight(as so many hatton fans say) then he should take this fight before anything else. I dont think he'll do much more then he did the first time around but if he wins decisivly he'll earn respect in the states. maybe we'll see something we didn't see in the first fight from Hatton.

I think Richie Woodhall scored it a draw, though he made it clear there were a lot of close rounds that he wasn't sure about. As for the other guy, can't remember what his score was but his commentary is generally quite poor and he doesn't know a great deal about scoring fights.

How can u not say he'll do much better? he has grown into the weight class much better. He is now used to Collazos southpaw style, and will connect on punches where he didnt last fight.

If a rematch happens, then i see Hatton winning by KO, and thats a decisive as a victory gets.

religously? kinda. i've watching boxing for like 15-20 years now, but that was only 2-4 times a month. I just started watching boxing almost daily about 2 years ago.

So not recently. And being on this forumn and others helps me understand the sport a lot quicker then i would without it. but no, not recently. why?

Well I dont see Hatton's speed being what it was at 140. IMHO to be a bully in the lower weightclasses you have to have decent handspeed. Hatton is bulked up as a WW, his arms are small and packed with muscle making him slower, but hey i could be wrong. What the main point of my post was that he should take the rematch to show US boxing fans that the Hitman really wants to make an impression. If he avenges that poor performance alot of people will respect him.If he moves on then he'll still hear whispers about this fight.
