i think Collazo showed some real class in what he said, he definetly redeemed himself from his classlessness from the post-fight interview, and earned back my respect.

Im really interested in what hatton has to say about a rematch. I'm sure he'll take it, but not immidiatly like Collazo wants.

Hatton Promised Me Rematch - Collazo

Luis Collazo has demanded Englishman Ricky Hatton lives up to his post-bout promise and gives the dethroned WBA welterweight champion a rematch.
Former light welterweight king Hatton out-pointed the American at the weekend in his first fight at the higher limit.

But Collazo said: "He said he would give me a re-match. Now he needs to make good on that promise."

His promoter Don King added: "For his own sake and for his English supporters Ricky has to take on this guy again."

Hatton, 27, came through arguably the toughest fight of his career in Boston on Saturday when he squeezed past Collazo to claim the WBA belt.

Despite flooring his opponent in the first 15 seconds of the contest, the 'Hit Man' was pushed all the way before winning on points.

But, unsurprisingly, King feels the bout was too close to call and can only be resolved by fighting again.

"It was a very close fight and it could have gone either way but in my opinion that's where the controversy comes up and they talk about a rematch," he told BBC Radio Five Live.

"I think a rematch would be the best thing in the world for Ricky because it takes away all confusion, dubiousness and doubt."

Hatton, who won the IBF and WBA belts at light welterweight before giving them up to take on Collazo, said immediately after the fight: "I'll fight absolutely anybody and that includes a rematch with Luis."

But the Mancunian has since said he wants to take on the winner of next month's WBC lightweight clash between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo.

However, Collazo still hopes the new WBA welterweight champion will make good on his promise.

"In the spirit of good sportsmanship, I think it would be only right for our second fight to take place on his home turf in Manchester," he said.

"I would be honoured to accept his invitation for an immediate re-match in England."

yeah re-match. Ricky can't be that bad again. It would have to be at the MEN though i'd think. I agree Ricky knocks Collazo out next time, I think Ricky would want this fight as well to remove any doubt, I hope so.

If I were Ricky's promoters I'd do it.The feeling is that he should have lost that fight.If he can come back and dominate Collazo then I think he is ready to start going after the big-dogs

Hatton won the fight fairly and squarely, but a re-match would still be the classy thing to do.
