They're gonna follow the same "(insert top fighter) is ducking us, so we have to fight (insert bum) to stay busy" scam they've used for years. They'll keep cashing decent checks, while putting Manny in low risk situations. GGG is following that same model.
I was more or less with you until your last sentence. Now you are comparing Jeff Horn to Danny Jacobs. No.2 at MW with No.?? at WW? The hate is endless.
Also Jesse Vargas is probably top 10 at WW or at least was when the fight took place.
Jeff Horn is a joke. Jessie Vargas not so much and Danny Jacobs not at all.

"“This is a different ball game and Dean Lonergan knows the figure we want,’’ Arum said. “The Crawford fight was a pay per view scenario but we are planning this as a free-to-air fight in America, so it will not be $20 million.

So here it says "free to air'..meaning non-ppv... In another article, it said non-ppv or they may consider ppv at a discounted rate than normal.

“Manny has seen some of Jeff Horn’s previous fights, we’ve shown him tapes,’’ - Damn they still watching VHS Tapes over there...to quote Floy, "Its f***ed up over there"

Nah..I know it's Top Rank's style. They were however genuinely in talks for a Pac-Broner fight.

That said, we can criticize Arum. But at the same time, the PPV market is sort of in an unpredictable state right now. Arum knows this and he is in the business to make money.

So I could see why he prefers to stage an inhouse fight with ppv buys for a pac-fight probably 300k.

Yo have to understand, he is up there in age and if he was hardheaded/stubborn/deluded at times in the past, those characteristics only become magnified with the passing of years. So no need to ridicule him or insult him, it happens. This fight is crap though, so disappointed.

I just explained why there were in talks for a Broner fight but never approached Thurman, Porter, or Spence

People keep saying Brook/Pac is a good fight, which it is. It'll probably make more money in the UK than Brook/GGG. But it's a 50/50 fight with a fighter outside the Top Rank stable. Now they're looking at Burns which would make a lot of money in Ireland. But it's not a 50/50 fight. Pac will be heavily favored. When Arum went looking for a PVC fighter he didn't go after Porter, Thurman, or Spence. He went after Broner. Another fight where Pac would be heavily favored. When Mosely fought Pac he had to leave Golden Boy so Bob could get options on him if he pulled off the upset. This has been the Top Rank way of doing business for decades. I guess people hatred of Floyd left them blind to what Top Rank has been doing forever.

As to why he's fighting Horn, who else is he gonna fight? Like I said, Top Rank isn't putting him in 50/50 fights with anybody outside the Top Rank stable. He knows he can't sell the Bradley fight again. Vargas was the last Top Rank welter with a decent enough name to hold the fight in America. But Vargas isn't a star and you see he was willing to let Vargas fight outside the Top Rank stable when he was supposed to fight Brook. The same for Ruiz. He's fleecing the Australian fans. He knows they'll pay to see the legend Manny take on one of their hometown kids. If you were Australian and haven't had a big name fighter there since Jack Johnson wouldn't you pay to see Pac? They buying Mudine vs Green on PPV so you know they'll buy Pac the legend. He can still make more money off Pac than he can off Crawford that's why he's delaying the Crawford fight until he's squeezed out every lay cent from Pac's name.

WTF is this bulls*** fight? Some Aussie bloke knocks out a couple tomato cans and he gets a Pacquiao fight?

Gimme Pacquiao v Canelo, or the passing of the torch we want to see, Pacquiao v Crawford. Jeff Horn?? WTF!!! I'd rather see Pac run into the ring, KO Michael Buffer, then run out again. I'd rather pay for that than Jeff Horn. Gimme Pacquiao v Connor McGregor, anything!!

Wonder how the Australian tax system is compared to the US. Will Paqcuaio take home a larger slice of the guarantee? This is a guy who spends a large part of it just for his huge entourage alone. He's living above his means.
