Has anyone actually seen Oquendo in the last 2 and a half years? Can we be certain he's even still alive? I'm happy for Briggs to finally be getting this shot, hopefully he can finally rid us of the corpse of Fres Oquendo. LET'S GO CHAMP!!!!!

Great news. Shannon Briggs will finally get that 'world title' and payday to leave on as he will face the Klit-AJ winner (who i think will beat both Pulev and Ortiz).

the WBA world heavyweight championship is the oldest of the recognized heavyweight titles. there's no such thing as a "regular" championship. the WBA has a world championship and a super championship. when the titles are unified, it's the super championship that is being eliminated, not the world championship.

so as silly as it seems, briggs does have a chance here to finally win the belt held by ali, etc.

No when the titles are unified it's the super championship that is created, but if the WBA had any credibility it would be the regular that is eliminated. Anybody with a brain knows that the regular champion in this situation is essentially the mandatory contender but because the WBA is greedy and corrupt the organization sniffs championship fees, so......
