I also heard that the WBA is going to have the Ultimate Warrior fight the Honky Tonk Man for the WBA Intercontinental title.

There's no such thing as a "regular" championship. That is slang used to describe a WBA world champion in a division with a super champion. But it's the super championships the WBA is getting rid of. They're not getting rid of their world championships.

You are free to pretend the WBA world champion is a #1 contender or mandatory, but it doesn't change the fact that Briggs & Oquendo are fighting for the title held by Ali, etc. Klitschko & AJ are fighting for a recently created title that did not exist back in the day.

Oquendo's legal settlement promises him a fight for the world championship, not the super championship. Once Briggs is promised the world championship match by the WBA, they can't bypass him and have Oquendo fight someone else without opening themselves to legal liability.

Like you, I would have preferred for the WBA to just crown one champion instead of two, but with Oquendo, Ustinov, Ortiz & Briggs all owed title shots in 2017, there was no way for the WBA to get out of this mess without having two heavyweight titles a little longer.

      Pigeons -

If Heavyweight Factory isn't able to secure US TV, I plan to offer $25,000 for the rights and if they accept, I'll be putting the fight on internet pay-per-view for $9.99. But I expect them to find TV for the fight.

The WBA Intercontinental title is already held by Kubrat Pulev.

I like this Cannon kid. Hails from Brownsville just like Iron Mike.

Also check out this prospect David Tua coming up the ranks. Best left hook I've seen since Tommy Morrison.

When Ortiz was interim champion, Ustinov was his mandatory. The two parties couldn't agree on drug testing and the fight didn't happen. There was finger pointing and who was to blame was a bit of a mess.

Then Ortiz signed with Hearn. Ortiz vacated the interim title and fought for the intercontinental title instead. At that point, Ustinov was still owed an interim title shot.

To the WBA's credit, rather than crown another interim champion, they decided to make Ustinov the mandatory for the world title. As for Ortiz, he asked to become mandatory for the super title, which is why he's not fighting for the world title.

With Oquendo still owed a world title shot from the lawsuit years ago and Briggs owed a world title shot from the Browne fight falling apart, that leaves us with Briggs-Oquendo for the world title, with the winner to face Ustinov.

Wlad/AJ for super title with the winner to face Ortiz.

Briggs/Oquendo vs Ustinov winner then faces the Wlad/AJ vs Ortiz winner for the undisputed WBA heavyweight championship of the world and this whole super title mess will be over.
