No, it's not coincidence at all. I like the 3 guys you mentioned first more than the other 3 .. get it now?

But that's obviously not based on pigmentation, because if it was, I would like Canelo as much as Fury and Kovalev, and more than Golovkin.

And now I'm curious ... you're saying that Canelo isn't white ... so what the heck is he then? I mean, to you .. in your world?

Latino isn't a race, but most of us latinos see the latino in you over your skin complexion.

There is racism in our nations as well but beyond that we stick together and are also grouped together but outsiders.

Rigo and Canelo are both fighters first, latino fighters second, and representing their own nations third to me. What color their skin is doesn't even cross my mind.

Yet you worship everything white and can't say anything good about anybody Black.

        Typical

That being said, let's not pretend it was some monumental effort on Furys part. It was a dull plodding fight by any account. Fury just did more than Wlad did on that night, that's not saying much.

Wilder is faster, more coordinated and more powerful than Fury is. Throw in Furys weak chin, add in that Fury doesn't have power or pure boxing skills to protect that chin for all twelve rounds and there you go. As noted Fury is Big John Tate waiting to happen.
Tate is such a poor comparison. Tate was a dim bulb. A decent guy who got by on piss and vinegar. Fury is a technical fighter who uses a lot of skill sets and very natural movement. He got dropped by a puncher, it happens, it does not indicate a bad chin. Wilder is getting better by the day. He now can punch very well and put some punches together.

Fury can put punches together, fight in all ranges, and has excellent defense. Vegas would be more than willing to take bets for Wilder, but any trainer knows that Wilder will have to evolve quite a bit to challenge Fury and have more than a puncher's chance. Fury would beat Fury with his jab alone in all probability.

Having seen Ortiz against a mobile, evasive opponent in Malik Scott, I think he is absolutely made to order for Fury.
Interesting observation, I was kinda considering a similar opinion when I first thought about it. Ortiz is well trained. He can make adjustments. I don't think he could adjust to Fury's mobility though. You might be on to something. Wilder really makes no adjustments in the ring, unless one can call attacking a stationary opponent with a different punch selection an adjustment.

Kong is heavy handed, but he has to get past Fury's front leg and shoulder. Tough call. lol.

I would say that, in the Americas, being Latin depends partly on geography, and partly on language, and the cultural links and similarities that sharing a language creates. Would you agree with that?

I would also say that the ideas about "race" which some of the more ignorant North Americans hold are unique in the world. There are racists everywhere, including the UK. But even the most ignorant British racists can distinguish between race and other factors .. like nationality, culture, and language. You would never hear a Brit say something as crazy as, "If Canelo was white, he would be talking English, not Spanish"

I myself am white, but I have blood relatives who some people would say are of a different race than me. Nothing puts race into perspective like being called "Uncle Paul" by a beautiful, brown skinned young woman.

For the most part I agree.

I lived in europe and while the racism I experienced was pretty violent, there is definitely way more overall ignorance and general intolerance here in the us, and it's hyporicitical and hilarious because this is the one "melting pot" nation, the last place you would think such mentalities exist.

Us latinos have much in common culturally because our native origins territories spread across latinoamerica before national boundries were created, and we were also conquered by the same european nations. Our dishes are similar, our tastes in music, and many other cultural similarities exist. I've always hoped our latin nations would unify like the USSR did, one currency like the euro, etc.
