    Question For Older NSB Members.

So I've been wondering this for a minute now.

I began lurking on here on and off in 2013, and made an account I forgot about in 2015. I started posting in earnest this year or so, so I haven't really been around that long. So my question is directed at the older forum members and it is this; are the current crop of GGG and Canelo fan bases comparable to the Pac and May fan bases? I mean, they seem equally poised as compared to how overwhelmingly reviled Floyd was and still is, but is the constant mud slinging comparable? Has the support become fanatical yet?

I'm asking as somebody who not a fan of either boxer, and would genuinely be neutral if the fight ever happened.

EDIT: Also, just to clarify, I meant I don't like either GGG or Canelo, not May or Pac. Unashamedly a fan of Floyd, and like Pac as a boxer.

Pact*rds and fl*mos were still far worse. In fact all of the worst GGG/Canelo/Ward fans around right now are just remnants of these old fanbases

No, the Floyd-Pacquiao stuff was on another level. For a while you'd get banned if you made any mention of the two of them outside of designated sticky threads. I got banned for racism when I referred to Pacquiao as "yellow bellied", and I'm not even a Floyd fan.

I was reading here for 2 or 3 years before signing up and the Pac fans of that era where nearly identical to the GGG fans you see now.
I like both guys so it annoys me to see these idiot fanboys making foolish arguments and trying to defend every single thing they, their managers, trainers, and friends do.

Canelo really doesn't have all that much support here so there's no Mayweather parallel in that regard.

Pacquiao's fans were very effective at getting people banned for really ****** reasons.

So GGG fans can't be like mayweather fans? Always a race thing

That's not true at all. The GGG fans may be a bit mancrush-y but at least they write coherently, aren't flagrantly racist and seem to know the sport

The p*ctards were just awful, like a plague of locusts destroying boxing discourse all over the internet

Mayweather's fanbase on here in the 00's consisted of the same five posters with many alts.

Why bring up race? I certainly didn't even think of race.

It's no secret that the Pac fanbase migrated to Golovkin. Not anything wrong with that either.
