Kovalev lost the decision for two reasons: First, he is known as "Krusher". He's expected to go out and destroy his opponent. Early on, he looked like he was on track to do just that, then seemed to back off, which leads to the second reason for the loss: Money, money, money! This controversial decision & the two sides having differing opinions of who won, only stirs the pot and builds interest in a rematch.

I don't believe that, but there could be some truth to your first point.... it did not look like Kovalev was fighting his fight down the stretch
