However, all that said, I'm not paying $70 to watch it!

I don't begrudge Ward getting the nod because the fight was close. I had Kovalev winning by 2 points or 2 so. I think Kovalev largely neutralized Ward's inside game. I think the lack of punches coming from Ward was a testament to that. The problem was that Kovalevs work rate was also pretty low.

Ward and his corner had the perfect fight plan-they attacked Kov's body and fought on the inside where Kov was extremely weak. He turned Kov from an aggressor to a holder.
Now I don't know if Kov can improve at his age but I know if they fight in NYC with a ref that doesn't allow holding (like the guy that reffed wlad's last fight in MSG) then IMO it will be difficult for Kov.
Although, if Ward gets to cocky, Kov can touch his chin and end it because he never really caught Ward flush.
I had a for Kov the first time I watched it, and Ward the second time from the video recorded from the seats. Sergey needs to work on his stamina if he wants to win a rematch. Ward will need to start off quicker on his end and sTay away from move power. There should absolutely be a rematch though.

Lol you guys do not understand boxing. You think Ward fought inside while Kovalev held. How do you think Ward got inside a much more powerful puncher in the first place lol? What you think he just ducked in with high guard, threw some body shots, back to high guard, threw some shots, back to high guard, right next to Kovalev, without taking shots back and getting hurt? You are delusional. The only way Ward could get inside in the first place was using the hook-and-reel-in. Duck in, grab Kovalev, pull him in, throw a shot, then hold Kovalev's arms so he can't throw back, etc etc etc etc. Ward's entire inside game is based on hitting and holding at the same time. If you just hit, but you don't hold, then you get hit back. The other guy's arms are free and he just has to step back two inches and drill you. Ward can't exchange shots with Kovalev like that so his entire inside game is predicated on holding.
The only holding Kovalev did was when Ward came in low with his head, so Kovalev had to protect his chin from Kovalev's head coming up, so he put his arm over Ward's head. That's it. And it was nullifying all Ward's illegal tactics, but because the ref was in the tank for Ward, he only warned Sergey until Sergey got pressured to stop, allowing Ward to get inside more and hit and hold, but still not nearly enough to win the fight. Ward even got punished for trying to fight inside during the 12th round when he got hurt with an inside body shot. Ward never hurt Kovalev once inside or outside but you still want to give him all this credit?
Like i said, no offense, but either you don't understand what you watched, or you're delusional. Just watch 10 minutes of this you will see what I mean guaranteed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9UVJ-taoeQ

Kov obviously had more success in the first half of the fight than any other point in the fight. Why make these statements? It's just not a good look. Let's get this rematch cracking, so we can see who's the king of the hill.
